  • Exactly what I was looking for.

This podcast is heavy on facts and policy background and not necessarily and opinion show and has limited political commentary. As they say “just the facts ma’am”. This is exactly what I wanted to find. The interviewer and guests are obviously knowledgeable and experts in the field.

  • Informative and Interesting

Every episode is a new topic and I enjoy that. Episodes introduce new people and ideas. Ethical issues with the current system are commonly discussed. Very enlightening. If you like to think critically about current healthcare topics then you will probably enjoy this podcast.

  • Interesting and in-depth

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying these episodes. I especially like the background and context setting that Niall does every episode. Looking forward to hearing more topics from industry experts. I haven’t found this podcast to be particularly biased, but it’s probably a pitfall of the “single interviewee” concept—it’d be nice to do some of these topics with a panel with varying perspectives.

  • Not what I was hoping for

I was looking for a podcast that gave informative updates about the US healthcare and as a manager or a doctors office something to lee me in the loop. Some interviews were interesting but not what I was looking for. It’s very progressive, and topics are pretty niche from a pro big-government point of view.

  • Another liberal echo chamber

This is not really a podcast about healthcare policy. It is a political podcast aimed at disparaging Republicans, President Trump, the wealthy, and anyone else deemed undesirable by the liberal elite in

America. However, if you are a social justice warrior and it stepping out what privilege, redistributing the will of the greedy one percent, then this is the podcast for you.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Georgetown's Professor Katie Keith Unpacks HHS's Recent Proposed Affordable Care Act Rule
Q: What is the proposed change to catastrophic plans and why is that important?
The administration would broaden catastrophic plan eligibility beyond under-30 individuals, raise out-of-pocket maximums further, and potentially allow multi-year plan design flexibility, which could substantially broaden enrollment and change cost-sharing dynamics; the specifics are uncertain and controversial, prompting much commentary.
Georgetown's Professor Katie Keith Unpacks HHS's Recent Proposed Affordable Care Act Rule
Q: So let's start with an overview, what orienting comments would you make about this proposed rule?
The rule is very long and sweeping; the agency faces a compressed comment period and potential finalization could be delayed or phased in, with insurers and state regulators needing to prepare for next year's plans, and many provisions invite extensive stakeholder feedback.
Professor Shannon Mussett Discusses Entropic Philosophy's Relevance to Our Health and Health Care
Q: What does entropics contribute beyond standard entropy discussions in your book and in this interview?
Entropics extends entropy into cultural and ethical domains, drawing on Greek roots to emphasize care and attention to those most affected by systemic breakdown, such as the elderly and marginalized communities, and proposing a reallocation of resources toward care over continuous production.
Professor Shannon Mussett Discusses Entropic Philosophy's Relevance to Our Health and Health Care
Q: Beauvoir and entropy: how does existential philosophy inform your approach to aging and the elderly?
Mussett connects Beauvoir's aging critique to entropix by examining how aging is socially construed and how entropy-based thinking can reframe the elderly as deserving care rather than waste, influencing both policy and ethical perspectives.
Harvard Professor Eram Alam Discusses Her Just-Published Book, "The Care of Foreigners, How Immigrant Physicians Changed US Healthcare"
Q: How can we improve immigration reform to address the healthcare workforce issue?
By eliminating the two-year return requirement for immigrant physicians, supporting community health workers, and addressing healthcare delivery economics.
