  • Must listen for golf coaching!

I’ve been listening to this podcast for the last 6 months. I am a young coach and this podcast has given me so many different resources and ideas that have helped me so much in my coaching.

There is such a variation in the different experts Toby has on his show, it really gives you a lot of different perspectives and ideas about golf coaching.

Toby is also a great guy. I reached out to him asking for some help with a few questions, and he got back to me straight away without hesitation.

  • Great Golf Podcast

Toby is a fantastic host. His enthusiasm pours out into every episode, so much passion for the game and making people better at the game. The podcast has a great mix of guests from Coaches, Players, Caddies, and more. You don’t have a to be a golf coach to listen! Yes there is swing information on the podcast but most shows are entertaining through stories and anecdotes from inside the ropes. And let’s face it if you are getting this podcast as a recommendation you are likely a golf nerd like me... more

  • Fantastic !

Great listening to the podcast, Toby is a class act and obviously works hard to produce each episode with high production. Really interesting for me as a coach to listen to and pick up bits that Toby and his guests are doing with their students. If you’ve got a long drive to a tourney or a day of coaching, get this podcast switched on and be a sponge for an hour

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Earl McGlinn: How to Prepare for Your Best Golf in the Next 6 Weeks
Q: What's the recommended approach for a club golfer planning a golf trip or a short tournament run?
Focus on the boring fundamentals, speed control on greens, and actually playing on course to build real-course confidence; balance practice with short, goal-oriented rounds and use scoring elements to keep motivation while addressing key weaknesses.
Earl McGlinn: How to Prepare for Your Best Golf in the Next 6 Weeks
Q: What role does data collection play in preparing for an event?
Data should inform decisions and remove emotion. Track ball flight, distances, and patterns, then translate findings into actionable plans (e.g., watering the garden where needed, adjusting targets, and refining weaknesses while leveraging strengths).
Earl McGlinn: How to Prepare for Your Best Golf in the Next 6 Weeks
Q: How long before a big event should a golfer start preparing, and what should that preparation look like?
Six weeks is a starting point; use a traffic-light system to divide weeks into development (red), training/experimentation (orange), and tournament-mode (green). Begin with technical blueprint cleanup, then introduce controlled practice and event-focused adaptations, while prioritizing testing in realistic settings.
Nick Flanagan: From Playing the Masters in front of Tiger Woods at 19 to Three Korn Ferry Tour Wins and Now Coaching!
Q: How did you feel playing at the Masters at such a young age?
Flanagan expressed disbelief and pressure, recalling how he struggled initially on the greens.
Nick Flanagan: From Playing the Masters in front of Tiger Woods at 19 to Three Korn Ferry Tour Wins and Now Coaching!
Q: What was it like after you won the US Amateur?
Nick described it as hectic with a lot to take in, including media commitments and feeling thrust into the spotlight.
