  • The Gamecube IS cool

The GameCube was cool podcast is one of my favorites 😆 I did not grow up with the GameCube but this podcast is the reason why I bought a GameCube and I’ve been listening pretty much each week since the shrek episode. I loved the reviews for Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, and hit and run but there are so many good ones here. But I am playing through prime rn and loving it and I have Mike and Neil to thank for pushing me to get a Gamecube by their awesome experiences and interviews with others on the... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Conker's Bad Fur Day
Q: What is your all-time favorite Rare game?
Harrison names Diddy Kong Racing and other classic Rare titles as favorites, highlighting the era's lightning-in-a-bottle quality and the breadth of Rare's catalog before transitioning to Conker, acknowledging Conker's distinct tone and legacy.
Pokémon Colosseum
Q: What made Pokemon Colosseum feel distinct from other Pokemon games of its time?
Erin and the hosts note its JRPG-like storytelling, mature tone, Shadow Pokemon mechanic, and absence of random wild encounters as key differentiators that pushed the series into a deeper, narrative-driven space.
Wario World
Q: What is your favorite Wario game of all time?
My favorite Wario game is probably Wario Land 3 on the Game Boy Color.
Chibi-Robo
Q: What are your favorite areas in the game?
I really like the Jenny's room because it has the most fun with the concept of being so tiny, because there's this, I think it's like a doll house or a castle that you have to scale, but obviously being a little robot, there's a lot that goes into it sort of thing.
Chibi-Robo
Q: Was Nintendo have a game with this type of story today?
I don't think so. I think Nintendo might say that they would, but then they wouldn't because as a point of comparison, you remember when Tears of the Kingdom was going to come out and they said that it was going to be darker than Majora's Mask.
