  • Let you guest speak

Please let your guests speak and don’t inject your own words until they finish. And some of the things the host says are rather off putting. For example, host asked what shots top junior need to have and the guest said they should have all the shots. The host replied that’s basic in a dismissive way. But really? How often do you see a drop shot in WTA ? How often do you see serve and volley? How often do you see a knife like slice?

Let the guest speak and let them finish.

  • Episode 210 was Awesome

Episode 210 with Andy Murray’s strength coach was a great episode. That is part of an overall wonderful podcast.

I would love to hear an episode about how CrossFit aligns with Tennis for the 3.5–4.0 level club player. Just a suggestion from an avid.

  • Good Host, with Great Guests

I discovered the podcast only after buying some Tennis Match Journals from Fabio. I was looking for something for my daughter who plays tennis and gets really emotional on court. I thought perhaps writing things down might help her. And thanks to the internet found Fabio’s journals. But then I stated getting weekly emails about the podcasts. Now I listen every week. You have to kind of be a tennis geek to get into some of them, but it’s usually good stuff! Keep up the good work!

“I Wasn’t a Great Junior” ATP no.73 Mattia Bellucci
Q: What changed for you to reach the top 100 and what was it like breaking in?
The shift happened when I found the right environment and motivation, plus continued effort and a bit of luck; it culminated in big results like Rotterdam and beating strong players, which helped cement my place in the top 100.
“I Wasn’t a Great Junior” ATP no.73 Mattia Bellucci
Q: Tell us about your journey from junior to pro.
I didn't have a great junior career, but I kept at it, played some junior events, balanced school, and then moved into futures and pro tour where I found motivation and progress, eventually breaking into the top 100.
Does the Saber Improve Your Tennis? Here’s What the Data Shows
Q: What is the potential long-term benefit of using the saber for skill development?
Long-term benefits lie in improved adaptability and learning design, enabling players to transfer faster, more efficient movements into regular play, while maintaining a focus on gaze behavior and targeted contact under pressure.
Does the Saber Improve Your Tennis? Here’s What the Data Shows
Q: How should coaches and players use the saber in warm-ups or practice?
Use the saber as a baseline tool to accelerate learning at speed, integrate it into warm-ups or circuits to promote adaptability, and avoid over-reliance as a mini-tennis tool; then transition back to the standard racket to apply the gained speed and gaze focus.
Does the Saber Improve Your Tennis? Here’s What the Data Shows
Q: What were the biggest mechanical differences observed when players used the saber compared to their normal racket?
The most notable changes were in shoulder mechanics during the acceleration phase, with the saber producing slightly less internal rotation and a more angled racket face that tends to direct shots into the court, especially cross-court, while maintaining similar upper body movement overall.
