I’m a relative new subscriber and enjoy the expert analysis, but it does seem light on the women’s tour. I’d appreciate more female journalist guests and more than the occasional wta match analysis.
Love your analysis! Here’s a U.S. Open mailbag question for you: have there been more double-faults in this tournament than in previous grand slams? It seems as if there have been more tight double-faults in big moments, on both the men’s side and the women’s side. Curious if the data show this.
You just know being a daily listener my boy Gilly is getting 5 stars. Gill I also have a strange request if you see this review. Could you give an insight to your own tennis game as well as Alex Gruskin’s . I was also wondering which of the two of you are better. Keep up the great work brotha as an aspiring junior your insights mean a lot.
Along with the Intuitive Tennis YouTube channel, this is one of the rare lights in the darkness that is tennis content production these days — including from many ex-pros. Most of the time, it’s just lifestyle reporting, imbecilic social media chit-chat, or poor attempts at being “analytical” in the vein of: “he should up his first-serve percentage.”
But here’s a guy who actually understands that if that percentage is low, it might have something to do with who you’re serving to/who is returnin... more
I love this podcast and have learned so much about tennis from Gill’s breakdown of matches. He analyzes the techniques (along with the data) to illustrate player strengths, weaknesses, matchup problems, areas for improvement, etc. I also appreciate that he goes deep and talks about players that are lower ranked and on the Challenger tour.
He clearly loves tennis. By far the most balanced takes on the sport and respect for the talent of the players.
