  • A Top enterprise networking podcast

You won’t go wrong adding first Packet Pushers’ network break as your first stop of the week for all things enterprise networking. Hosts are well researched and experienced, running through the stories of the week. The other shows are great too and more theme-specific.

  • Greg’s “Fart” and “Centaur” Metaphors Earn 5 Stars

    First NB episode of 2023:

Greg compares the ability to spot someone using a ChatGBT result as akin to being able to identify the guilty party in a silent but violent offense. 😆

Later in the episode, he compares the body of a Centaur to an AiOps model. 🤯

Been listening for years, great podcast, great group of gents. Keep ‘em coming! 🤘🏼

  • Great for a beginner like me

I’ve been listening for about a year now and great for me morning and afternoon commute.

I’m just getting into the IT world after working in OT (manufacturing automation) for a while. This keeps me up to date on the latest news and gives me technology topics to looks up later and provokes some thought. :)

TNO059: Design for Operations: Getting Vendor Support in the Ops Ecosystem
Q: Russ, what do you do? What exactly, what is it that you do?
Russ describes his work across hyperscale and enterprise accounts at Nokia, focusing on enabling and teaching data center fabrics and related technologies.
Tech Bytes: Build Your Automation Foundation on Infrahub’s Data Management Platform (Sponsored)
Q: How does Infrahub differ from Netbox and Noddlebot in terms of data storage and handling configurations?
Infrahub treats the data store as a blank canvas with no built-in opinions, unlike Netbox and Noddlebot which come with predefined models; Infrahub also natively integrates version control for changes and includes a powerful configuration-generation capability tightly coupled to the stored data, which is a core differentiator.
Tech Bytes: Build Your Automation Foundation on Infrahub’s Data Management Platform (Sponsored)
Q: Can you walk us through some common use cases with Infrahub and how it delivers immediate value on day one?
Teams typically start with a greenfield design captured in Infrahub to model a pod or fabric, define a few key inputs such as device counts and hardware, and then generate full topology data and proposed configurations in advance; brownfield workflows involve ingesting existing data via partner tools and gradually syncing it into Infrahub to enable automated changes.
NB568: Arm Reaches for More AI Revenue with In-House CPU; Debating the FCC Router Ban
Q: How does InfraHub handle greenfield versus brownfield deployments?
For greenfield deployments InfraHub can codify designs, generate full pod topology and configurations before devices arrive, while for brownfield deployments it ingests existing data from tools like IP Fabric or Slurpee, then syncs that data into InfraHub to enable automated configuration generation as changes are requested.
NB568: Arm Reaches for More AI Revenue with In-House CPU; Debating the FCC Router Ban
Q: What is the core value proposition of InfraHub in a modern automation stack?
InfraHub serves as a writable, design-driven data repository that stores core configuration and policy data with integrated version control, enabling isolated change proposals, review workflows, and automated config generation, thus accelerating automation while maintaining trust and security.
