  • Ok show

Used to like all packet pusher content, after Greg left not the same. Not the same energy and a lot of sobbing sounding hosts. Leave politics out of the shows please.

  • Used to be great

Before Greg retired I would listen to every show except the sponsored ones, going on five years now. These days it is more like a contest to see how long I can last until Johna makes some asinine remark that makes me turn off the episode. The final straw was show 492 where she just had to bring up how much she doesn’t care if tech companies objectify women and defended Palo Alto for their booth babes stunt. Great that you are “not like the other girls,” Johna, but give me a break. I’ll no longer... more

  • I guess my snark filter needs mor vCPUs

Corey tries too hard to be snarkily clever and funny. It doesn't work for me. I spend too much brain power trying to follow his meandering versus his point. I don't have time for all of his self righteous, self loathing, obfuscated points. Tiring. I'm already tired from trying to keep up with on average 8 new significant features per day.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

NB564: New Juniper Routers Pump Up AI and Cloud-Scale Traffic; Anthropic Vs. DoD
Q: Why is OT security so uniquely challenging compared to IT security?
OT devices run on aging operating systems and use ICS protocols; attackers can dwell inside for long periods because the environment is mission-critical and often poorly monitored by traditional IT tools, requiring specialized OT-aware monitoring and a unified IT-OT SOC.
NB564: New Juniper Routers Pump Up AI and Cloud-Scale Traffic; Anthropic Vs. DoD
Q: What exactly is sovereign SASE as a service and why is it different from traditional SASE offerings?
It is a fully managed SASE stack delivered from sovereign environments within the client's jurisdiction, ensuring data residency, with no cross-border control planes or policy decisions, while still maintaining a single vendor architecture.
NB552: Nokia Switches On AI Ops; IBM Seeks a Quantum of Advantage
Q: What kind of performance metrics should folks be looking into and why?
Network engineers should focus on standard web metrics such as HTTP response times and check for underlying issues like DNS resolution times and TCP connection establishment times.
NB552: Nokia Switches On AI Ops; IBM Seeks a Quantum of Advantage
Q: Can you start us off just for folks who may not be familiar, give us a brief overview of Cisco ThousandEyes and what you do?
Cisco ThousandEyes is an assurance platform providing end-to-end visibility from users to applications, across various networks.
NB543: Splunk, ServiceNow Announce AI Agents; Data Center Spending Runs Amok
Q: But can you see the impact on performance?
You got to wonder about that impact on performance, I assume if you're, you know, on an F5 platform, you're going to want a sizable box to make sure you've got the throughput and processes and capability to do this successfully.
