  • Generally Like

I enjoy the show for the most part but some of the questions Emily asks are a mile long with multiple tangents in between. Would love to see an English professor try to diagram some of her questions.

Emily Compagno is excellent!!! So bright and articulate. This podcast is one of my favorites! The only criticism is that a lot of the episodes are too short.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Undercover in a Cult: Inside the Zion Society Investigation
Q: Tell me how this private investigator came in to play too, that was able to take some photos. And what was that infiltration like into the cult?
An undercover private investigator infiltrated the cult under the guise of a lingerie salesman, which allowed the team to document abuse firsthand and gather evidence that supported search warrants for the compound, ultimately helping to bring the operation into the open and provide victims a path to justice.
How the U.S. Finally Captured Maduro: Operation Absolute Resolve Explained
Q: How did we get here, and what does this mean for the future and safety of Americans?
The guest outlines a decades-long effort combining intelligence gathering, interagency coordination, and strong leadership to treat drug cartels as terrorists, culminating in a high-profile operation. He stresses that sustained presidential attention, a multi-agency framework, and continuous accountability are pivotal for ongoing safety and future actions against narcotics networks.
Inside the Mind of a Killer: The Surprising History of Profiling
Q: What first drew you to criminal profiling?
Corbett explains a personal connection to crime that led her to investigate profiling more deeply, combining interviews with police, psychologists, and others to construct a broader understanding rather than a single explanation.
Seconds Count: The Denise Amber Lee Story
Q: Can you describe the impact Denise had on you personally and professionally after the tragedy?
Nathan explains how Denise's memory fueled the Denise Amber Lee Foundation, driving him to advocate for mandatory 911 training and to travel nationwide to share her story, ultimately turning personal grief into a force for systemic reform.
Joseph Duggar Arrest: Reality Star’s Dark History Repeated
Q: What are the jury selection challenges in a high-profile case involving a well-known family, and how can they be mitigated?
The key is thorough voir dire to identify preconceived notions about the family and the case, using questionnaires and individual voir dire to screen for bias; the goal is to assemble a fair jury despite pervasive media coverage and public opinion.
