  • True Crime “minute”?

I wish this podcast would go back to the original format. “The True Crime Minute” isn’t even worth the trouble. Very disappointing.

Also, I miss Emily, though I enjoy hearing from Paul as well.

  • Generally Like

I enjoy the show for the most part but some of the questions Emily asks are a mile long with multiple tangents in between. Would love to see an English professor try to diagram some of her questions.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Part 2 Benjaman Kyle: The Alleged Amnesia Hoax
Q: Why do you think the subject pursued a new identity and how does that fit with what you found later?
He believed reinventing himself would allow him to escape a checkered past and gain five minutes of fame through deception, which aligned with the later discoveries of forged identities and deliberate obfuscation.
Part 2 Benjaman Kyle: The Alleged Amnesia Hoax
Q: What initially drew you to this case and convinced you that something was off from the start?
Maxwell describes noticing early inconsistencies, especially the public portrayal of injuries and the medical records that contradicted a serious assault, which suggested the person might be hiding information.
9 Execution Dates, 3 Last Meals: Why the Richard Glossip Case is Far From Over
Q: How common is bail for someone on death row, and what does it mean that he is out on house arrest in this situation?
The guest notes that bail after death-row status is extremely uncommon and discusses how safeguards and the context of prior appeals can influence a judge's decision to release someone under supervision while trials proceed.
9 Execution Dates, 3 Last Meals: Why the Richard Glossip Case is Far From Over
Q: Richard Glossip, how unique is this? Someone was convicted not once of murder or this conspiracy to commit murder?
Donna explains that this case is extraordinary because the defendant faced multiple murder-related charges, spent decades on death row, and prompted widespread scrutiny of the evidence and witness credibility, including issues with a star witness and prosecutorial decisions.
The Biotech Fraud: Inside the Gregory Davis Hit
Q: What were the key breakthroughs in connecting the hitman to the masterminds behind the plot?
Crucial breakthroughs included tracing the 911 call, tracking the purchase and use of a specific phone at a Walmart, and linking the hitman to the group through financial records and surveillance footage; these elements helped connect Jerry Banks to Sirhat Gamruchu and others.
