  • Hibernian - The Originals

As a fan of The Originals , Hibernian , the Club who gave Celtic their entire concept , the Hoops and over 50% of their first players I was hoping to dislike the Celtic episode.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

94. U.S. Clubs at the Champions Cup
Q: What are your plans for future projects after this one?
I would like to compile match reports from other countries participating in similar tournaments. The goal is to document the complete history of club participation in various competitions not limited to the Champions Cup but also include friendlies and other tournaments.
94. U.S. Clubs at the Champions Cup
Q: But before the 60s, was there any sort of similar tournament of this nature for clubs in America to compete at?
At an international level, there might have been local friendlies, but Concacaf was formed in 1961, and the first official U.S. participation was in 1963. Prior to that, the U.S. did not have teams competing in any formal tournament like the Champions Cup.
94. U.S. Clubs at the Champions Cup
Q: Tell us a little bit about the backstory to producing this document, Steven, because just shy of 50 pages is a huge project to be doing on the side.
The idea came from my involvement with Anccif, where our historians have been tasked to investigate U.S. teams that competed in the Champions Cup. My previous research led to the compilation of records for these teams, and I felt it was important to present this history, especially regarding their matches against Mexican clubs.
90. Football and Myth: The Orient Game
Q: What are the myths surrounding the Orient game?
The myths include perceptions that Burnley's survival in the game was a turning point for the club, even though they struggled for years afterward.
90. Football and Myth: The Orient Game
Q: How is the Orient game central to Burnley fans' identity?
Fans view the Orient game as a rebirth of the club and significant to their identity, often romanticizing the event and the emotions tied to it.
