I am saying goodbye. Why?
I started this podcast as at that time there wasn't really anyone in the podcast space focusing on the feeding stories. But now there is. Bigger podcasts have picked up on this important topic. Podcasts who had previously s... more

Today, I’m joined by Bria—a mother of two, living in Grenada in the West Indies—who has embraced breastfeeding as more than just feeding. From her first-ever public feed on the London Underground to nursing a four-year-old despite outside opinions, B... more
In this episode Claire joins me; a mum of five and midwife, whose feeding journeys have been anything but straightforward. After breastfeeding her first baby with ease for a year, she assumed it would be the same with the rest—but life had other pla... more
I’m joined today by Mel, who takes us through how she navigated early struggles when her milk took almost a week to come in, and the overwhelming pressure from professionals to supplement with formula. A lactation consultant even told her she might n... more

Feeling isolated in the midst of triple feeding, this podcast is exactly what I needed! Loving the variety of stories and Katie’s commentary. Wishing I had considered feeding as much as I did pregnancy and birth. Grateful for this resource and hoping there’s more!
This is such an excellent podcast. Moving, informative, and relatable. Just wonderful to hear these stories and know you aren’t alone or to know what you might expect if you plan on breast-feeding. You are covering just about every possibility with love, humor and good information. I’m especially moved by the description of what it is all about to breast-feed the emotion, the bonding and sometimes the difficulty. Fantastic job!
Great to listen to a range of breastfeeding experiences: beautiful interviews and so helpful!
I I feel the emphasis is more on the ‘couch’ than ‘feeding’ per se. I love that. I could listen to Mums talking about their journey all day. Long may this podcast continue
Every episode is full of gems about feeding, birth, womanhood and mothering. Can’t wait for more episodes!
Katie’s interviews with a family’s experience of breastfeeding are truly inspirational. We hear about the trials and tribulations , the successes and disappointments . These interviews give voice to each woman’s breastfeeding experience and also serve as a huge educational resource for midwives and lactation consultants . Katie is able to demonstrate the importance of listening , validating and empowering each woman who curls up on her couch to talk freely and without judgement so they can inte... more
Have listened to the first episode and it was so helpful, I am a newly qualified midwife and listening to women’s stories are so helpful. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes I know they will be so important in my journey being ‘with woman’ especially in the breastfeeding space, thank you.
Love this podcast so much. It’s great to hear directly from mums and to learn from all of their different experiences. I only wish this podcast was around 15 years ago when I first started my breastfeeding journey! Definitely recommend if you are currently breastfeeding or indeed are thinking/hoping too
So lovely to hear different stories about breastfeeding journeys. There is so much nuance here rather than the often binary stories you hear that ‘breastfeeding was either easy’ or ‘milk just never came in.’ I’m 8 months into my breastfeeding journey so I love to hear the stories but I wish I had this in those early days when I didn’t know what was normal! Thank you Katie!
As always, amazing work Katie! Everything you create is golden! This will help lots of feeding moms!
Thank you so much to Katie and the generous mums and parents who joined her on The Feeding Couch to share their feeding stories to help others learn.
