  • Not so unvarnished

I want to hear both sides, but am finding their coverage more and more sympathetic to dark themes. For instance: describing people celebrating CK’s death as disgusting, and his ‘work’ as challenging opinions. Publicly, at least, this man was not a good person. Openly hateful talk is disgusting. Has the BBC entered the upside down world??

  • The explanation-the Grain deal

Just heard you Grain deal special Podcast.

It was disappointing that programme was trying to EXPLAIN the Deal:

•With Help of Expert from Kiev-Ukraine

    •BBC Monitoring service

Wondering why you could not get experts based in Russia, I am sure Phone lines are open there!

One cannot at the end feel that the EXPLANATION was ONE sided view

It defeated the basic remit of the Programme

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Media Show: Reporting the World Cup
Q: How much access do you get to the England team and how do you coordinate that access for multiple outlets?
The team's access is carefully managed with a balance between obtaining insightful content and not overwhelming players with questions; journalists often operate with limited, targeted access and coordinate through official channels to avoid crowding the same moments.
The Media Show: Inside Rafa Nadal's Netflix show
Q: Zach, what was your approach to Rafa Nadal's documentary in terms of balancing editorial integrity with the potential perception of PR?
Zach Heinzerling stated that Nadal was not a producer and did not have final cut, and that the film aimed to present a more objective, honest portrait by allowing cameras to document rather than shaping a narrowly promotional narrative.
The Media Show: Inside Rafa Nadal's Netflix show
Q: Hi Laura, it's Ross here in the studio with Katie. Thanks for coming on to speak to us. How did you secure that interview and why do you think Nicola Sturgeon chose to speak to you?
Laura Kuenssberg explained that the interview came together through persistent outreach, leveraging a cooperative public figure profile and a willingness to ask robust questions, while ensuring fair treatment in a public service broadcasting context.
The Media Show: Wrestling with Trump
Q: How different is your approach to short-form satire compared with a full-length documentary?
He describes satire as a flexible toolkit but emphasizes building a legacy through documentary and TV projects, using social media to train and funnel audiences toward longer, more substantial work.
The Media Show: Wrestling with Trump
Q: Munya, how did this documentary come about?
Munya explains that his fascination with the topic grew from his wrestling fandom and the potential to use documentary filmmaking to interrogate platforming a controversial figure, balancing his own fandom with rigorous analysis and a long-form storytelling approach.
