  • 4th of July

A level of ignorance by your team of the facts . The 4th of July relates to America choice for the continuation of slavery and discrimination . It is not a version .it is just a fact ..

  • Not so unvarnished

I want to hear both sides, but am finding their coverage more and more sympathetic to dark themes. For instance: describing people celebrating CK’s death as disgusting, and his ‘work’ as challenging opinions. Publicly, at least, this man was not a good person. Openly hateful talk is disgusting. Has the BBC entered the upside down world??

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Media Show: Farage's fight with the Media
Q: Brendan, what do you make of Nigel Farage's broader critique of the media in the last couple of days?
Brendan offers a nuanced view: Farage has a point about perceived demonisation, but media freedom remains essential and there should be accountability without overstepping boundaries.
The Media Show: Farage's fight with the Media
Q: Gabriel, you'll know there's lots swirling online. Just to be clear, did you put this story out as soon as you got it over the line?
Gabriel confirms that they worked on the story for some time, with thorough fact-checking and research, and that there was no delay in publication once the reporting was ready.
The Media Show: Can an AI actor win over Hollywood?
Q: How do AI actors like Tilly Norwood fit into the film industry's future, and what are the ethical guardrails?
AI actors are viewed as a new medium rather than a replacement for human actors, with guardrails including limiting AI to fully AI-produced projects and ensuring human collaboration, while acknowledging concerns about job displacement and the need for transparency.
The Media Show: Can an AI actor win over Hollywood?
Q: Why is Andy Burnham using social media as his primary channel now, and what are the implications for traditional press?
The panel suggests it's a strategic move to control messaging and avoid early scrutiny, but there is concern that it prioritizes a favorable image over accountability, potentially diminishing traditional scrutiny unless conventional interviews and press conferences continue.
The Media Show: The Murray brothers' media game
Q: What was the early struggle like when starting Breaker, and how did you reach profitability?
Lachlan describes risking his savings, a brutal first few months, and how a relaunch with notable guests helped Breaker become profitable within a year.
