  • Exceptional

Best climate podcast. The negative reviews even prove how good Chris is - my guy out here pissing off the tech bros and nuclear boys with his vastly detailed, incredibly clear-eyed analysis - keep going!!

  • Decent info, but anti-solution

Gives reasonably up-to-date information on the energy sector and Darius technologies but it’s ultimately anti-solution and anti-transition when it comes to opinion segments. Unfortunately, this ends up having the same effect as advocating for more oil production.

  • Very biased

Biased, unbalanced. Not helpful for creating a constructive dialog on nuclear energy’s pros and cons.

  • Technically deep but topically broad

Thank you Chris for you and your team's commitment to produce this high-quality and balanced show. It's been an entertaining and quality way to get up a steep learning curve. I find the technical depth of the discussions very helpful. And the breadth of topics covered is amazing but necessary to truly understand how so many things are related to and influential in the transition torenewable energy. [Episode #267] – Japan: Petrostate or Electrostate?
Q: How would you characterize the evolution of the world's energy system over the past 15 years?
Tanaka outlines that energy systems must reflect global issues and evolving geopolitics, emphasizing a need for comprehensive energy security beyond just oil, encompassing electricity and gas dependencies.
[Episode #265] – IEA World Energy Outlook 2025
Q: What are the outcomes of the different scenarios presented in the report?
The scenarios range from a static view of existing policies to normative scenarios aimed at achieving defined climate goals, notably net zero emissions by 2050.
[Episode #265] – IEA World Energy Outlook 2025
Q: Why was it necessary to emphasize the scenario approach this year?
Tim Gould explained it was important to clarify the multi-scenario approach due to the reappearance of the Current Policies Scenario to avoid misinterpretations that one scenario represents a forecast.
