  • I Love Every Single Thing About This

Like, do you know me personally and do things just to delight li’l ol’ me? It’s all the fun live music from Live From Here with cute little sketches that have just a dash of dark, surreal humor. Very Prairie Home Companion meets Welcome to Nightvale.

And as a HUGE Brittany Haas fan (both just her and Hawktail) it’s amazing to hear her playing with The Punch Brothers. She’s an amazing addition to the band and makes me so incredibly happy.

I don’t get a lot of progressive bluegrass podcasts,... more

  • This is great & I need more

This is great & I need more. The good clean fun we all need sometimes. Humor, good music, a little music education peppered in.

My only suggestion might be having a little more talking/interviews with the guests interspersed! But there is some. Great show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 4: Jason Isbell & Emily King
Q: Have you ever seen a word in there and let it change the story that you're telling?
Yes, I’ve had complete songs that were set out to be about one thing, then I landed on a word that sang beautifully and the song just veered off.
Episode 4: Jason Isbell & Emily King
Q: Tell us a little bit about this next one.
This next song was written for a movie but had a difficult negotiation with the movie's producers, so it ended up being included in Jason's record instead.
Episode 5: Sylvan Esso & The A’s
Q: Tell us about this next one.
This next one is called Frequency, and I wrote it about falling in love with somebody over the radio.
Episode 5: Sylvan Esso & The A’s
Q: How do you go about creating these epic Sylvan Esso shapes?
We both hear the song in very different places, but we decided to leave it to see what would happen.
Episode 6: Norah Jones & YMusic
Q: What was the experience with Paul Simon like?
It was eye-opening; Paul Simon saw them as a band rather than just performers, encouraging them to start writing their own music.
