Overall, my experience with this podcast is relatively good. The information is informed, and practical. However, I wish the podcast was more succinct. I feel like it tends to wander, and a lot of concepts are repeated over and over again. It just seems a little disorganized, at least on the Apple podcast listing.
37 yr old dad, trying to learn how to make my own metal/dubstep hybrid. This podcast has been great helping my ears and brain. I listen to this podcast on repeat for hours a day at work. His voice style and attitude are great for nonstop listening. I would like to see him dive more into a few different genres for ear training. Hear some chords on a guitar, power chords, trap chords etc..... but overall the BEST ear training podcast i have found!
Even though I’m really new to ear training, as a singer it’s one of the most valuable tools and this podcast really helps!
And I love it. Also I'll send $100 to someone random who reviews it before midnight on Jan. 29th, 2020
I’m loving Sam’s 10 minute a day approach to ear training. Listening to it on the way to work or around the house has been great for my ear training chops. This is a great course for those who are new to music theory as Sam gives you things to listen for, or like me if you’re wanting to regain your ear training skills from college.
i love this guy. i muddle through by ear but i’m a bad student who won’t do my scales so i forget things. nice short episodes, really encouraging, simply explained. would recommend to all levels
As one who’s always envied those who can play by ear, this podcast is the first time I’ve actually felt like I have the ability to learn it too. Sam does a fantastic job of teaching in a way that makes you feel like you’re sitting there in the studio with him.
Sam broke it down like a music teacher - enjoyed the opportunity to try to figure it out the pattern by myself before getting the correct answer and reviewing solfege, which is super useful in all music.
Very fascinating concepts
Very interesting approach to helping people better appreciate the music they listen to.
A very helpful tool for any musician!
I think this content is ideal for any musician, for beginners to more professional artist, I’ve seen that the ear training is one of the most important parts and yet more difficult. I think there aren’t many ways to learn this skill in media but this podcast makes it easier to access. I highly recommend it.
This was a great podcast! I love that it's in short segments and it's engaging to listen to. I'm very much a beginner when it comes to music theory, but Sam makes it simple to follow, while also going in depth for those who are more advanced.
Sam does a great job keeping things simple and easy to understand for beginners while still a fun and interesting for the more experienced. I’d recommend it.
I am a person who studied music all my life but honestly could never ear train. I need the sheet music in front of me to know anything about the key. But this podcast takes you step by step to learning the skill of being able to know the key by ear. It used a simple, wholesome song to teach you. It’s helped me, and I’m sure it will help you!
