  • Very helpful and encouraging!

I am really benefiting from your show, thank you very much! Sharing it with others also. One humble suggestion is that you change your mic so that mouth sounds are muted rather than heard with every annunciation and movement of your mouth and lips. Not trying to be critical it’s just distracting from your rich content for certain listeners like me.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dr. Iain McGilchrist, Part II (S13E59)
Q: Do you describe reality as something we participate in rather than standing over? Is participation impersonal or personal, and how might that distinction shape our understanding of prayer?
Reality is participatory and personal; our attention and encounter with what exists shape what reality is for us. Prayer should be understood as listening and being receptive, where the practice involves sitting with silence and allowing something to emerge that speaks to the heart.
Throwback: Tish Harrison Warren (S13E49)
Q: What's helpful and what's not helpful when people are in pain, especially for those in ministry who care for others in lament and grief?
Presence matters as much as preaching; ministers should model vulnerability and the practice of listening and accompanying people through pain, rather than insisting on quick solutions, while embracing both presence and doctrine as complementary tools.
Brant Hansen on the Unoffendable Life (S13E46)
Q: How do you begin when someone hurts you deeply?
Start with acknowledging the anger, then choose to surrender the right to that anger for your own well-being, and pray for blessings on the person while taking practical steps to protect yourself.
Brant Hansen on the Unoffendable Life (S13E46)
Q: Why do you think forgiving as you've been forgiven is essential for a life of peace?
Because forgiveness frees us from being imprisoned by others' actions and aligns our life with a higher, constructive path that leads to real change and healthier relationships.
The Best of 2025: Jo Hargreaves (S13E12)
Q: When should a person recognize that they need professional help?
If you're stuck in a story and the story is repeating and you're finding it impossible to break out of that story, that's when I think is a really helpful time to think, okay, I need some support in shifting my state.
