  • The Ris

This show has maintained honesty and integrity. He provides data and expertise in his takes then breaks it down in that detail. He’s the guy you’d be happy to sit and talk to about the Lions anywhere over a beer. He brings in guests and doesn’t mind disagreeing because he appreciates a different view and is willing to discuss it and ask questions. His guests are knowledgeable and he comes at the topic from all angles. This is the best Lions podcast.

...and that is what these guys provide. Riz, Chris, Michael Gray...what sports (and all) journalism should be. Not both-side-ism, but a genuine take backed up by facts and personal observation.

  • Go, Risdon!!

Love the new format, man! Jeff Risdon *knows ball*. It is awesome to get his thoughts, unadulterated, every day. Bish and Brown and Grey are also good. One of the best Detroit Lions podcasts these days.

  • Lazy

The content of the actual podcast is good but for god sakes take the time to place your overbearing ads in spots that don’t interrupt your sentences. Nothing is more obnoxious than listening to some trying to make a point to have an ad interrupt whoever is talking mid sentence.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Daily DLP: Talking NFL Draft with Emory Hunt Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: Who are some day-two or day-three backs who could add juice to Detroit's offense?
He points to several backs with burst and pass-catching ability who could contribute in later rounds, highlighting the value of a multi-dimensional backfield and return game potential as a complement to Gibbs and Pacheco.
Daily DLP: Talking NFL Draft with Emory Hunt Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: What are the Lions' most pressing needs at 17 and which players fit their profile?
Emery identifies edge rusher and interior line options as likely fits, with considerations for flexibility on the line and potential cross-training. He mentions players who could provide three to four-year productivity windows and notes the impact of top-of-draft decisions based on what the Browns do at six and the top-of-draft context.
Daily DLP: Talking Lions draft with Chris Trapasso Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: With you on that. So just for context, who's your number one player in the draft, Chris?
David Bailey is my number one player in this class due to his elite talent ceiling and readiness to contribute, even if others might debate his fit given team schemes; I'd expect him to be a top option if the Jets or similar teams go in that direction.
Daily DLP: Talking Lions Draft Options With Luke Easterling - Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: What do you see as the Lions' primary needs going into this draft?
The primary needs center on the offensive line and finding that other edge rusher to balance the defense, with attention to how the current roster and injuries affect long-term depth.
Daily DLP: Reacting to 1st day of Lions free agency
Q: What were the biggest changes on day one of free agency for the Lions?
The biggest takeaways were the departure of Alex Anzalone, the signing of Cade Mays at center, and the realization that the team still needs to address quarterback depth and interior line talent, all while preserving cap flexibility for a potentially active draft period.
