  • The Ris

This show has maintained honesty and integrity. He provides data and expertise in his takes then breaks it down in that detail. He’s the guy you’d be happy to sit and talk to about the Lions anywhere over a beer. He brings in guests and doesn’t mind disagreeing because he appreciates a different view and is willing to discuss it and ask questions. His guests are knowledgeable and he comes at the topic from all angles. This is the best Lions podcast.

...and that is what these guys provide. Riz, Chris, Michael Gray...what sports (and all) journalism should be. Not both-side-ism, but a genuine take backed up by facts and personal observation.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Daily DLP: Talking Garrett trade, Petzing & more with Jared Mueller Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: Jared, tell the people about yourself. Where you work at, what you do.
Jared Mueller describes his long-time coverage of the Browns and his current role with Dogs by Nature, highlighting his Ohio roots, experience in NFL media, and his broad perspective on how player relationships and team-building shape trades.
Daily DLP: Talking Otas, Lions Schemes With Scott Bischoff - Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: What do you think Drew Petzing might do with this offense given OTAs and no pads?
There could be a balance between using 12/13 personnel and keeping flexibility to exploit coverages, with potential more dynamic involvement from Isaac Tesla and the receiving corps depending on how the system is implemented.
Daily DLP: Talking Lions extensions, windows and more with Ben Solak Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: Can the Lions win a Super Bowl with Jared Goff?
Yes, the Lions have shown they can contend with a quarterback like Goff when the supporting cast—especially the offensive line and play-calling—plays to his strengths, and when the team capitalizes on the right windows and personnel decisions.
Daily DLP: Talking Draft, Vikings Moves With Tyler Forness - Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: How did the Vikings' trade of their edge-rusher impact their defense and the Lions' immediate prospects?
Trading away a top edge-rusher like Grenard created a hole in the short term, forcing veterans and undrafted players to step up; it shifts how the defense must deploy pressure and could influence how the Lions game-plan against Minnesota.
Daily DLP: Talking Draft, Vikings Moves With Tyler Forness - Detroit Lions Podcast
Q: What are your thoughts on Caleb Banks as a pick for the Vikings and the risk involved?
Banks has high upside with elite arm length and burst, but the injury history and medicals make him a high-variance pick; in Brian Flores' scheme he could become a disruptive player if he can stay healthy and refine leverage.
