The DP podcast is an excellent source of ideas for professional military officers. I strongly recommend it to all military professionals. In my Army, “doing” is largely prized over “thinking.” Mick gives me hope that we can move beyond that paradigm. Mr. Leonard noted the difference between broadcasting opinions and/or ideas and actually having influence is at least a function of having hum... more
I have listened to every episode of the dead Prussian. In some cases 5-6 episodes back to back and I have encouraged my colleagues to follow this podcast series. This is a show worth listening to from the beginning. Each episode is stand alone but provides valuable insights. Do not be put off by the uneven audio quality in some of the early episodes. The quality improves! I particularly appreciate the view from “down under” as a contrast to United States perspectives.
This is great! Great for listening and thinking! The show on Carl ft (!) Alice in wonderland by your guest who questioned her experience and is (only) a 1st Lt is a story I can very much relate to as I stare down the barrel of military staff course and a potential MA in Def Studies with relative inexperience. It’s given me a tremendous amount of confidence. Thank you! Chalk up another regular listener from the UK.
Bit underwhelmed with the lack of veterans involved with the shows, too many scholars - aka people who’ve lived privilege lives far from warfare. more
Just Listened to Dean and Mick discuss morality in war. Great podcast and complements the work currently being done across Army to highlight ethical conduct. 5 stars!
