  • I used to listen to your podcasts. Not anymore

Too much bitcoin-too much gambling and not investing! In my opinion. You are targeting the young and desperate or the young and no clue! Not me! If I want to gamble, I can do it somewhere else as there is no basis for any analysis on bitcoin as it is based on nothing and can be used on almost nothing!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Economy Flashing 1930s Warning Signs Warns Economist | EJ Antoni
Q: Can you comment on inflation and the outlook given lower oil prices?
He explains that inflation can be driven by both supply and demand shocks, notes the complexity of policy responses, and argues against relying on monetary policy alone to address non-monetary supply shocks, while expecting prices to rise temporarily due to various disruption factors before stabilizing.
Economy Flashing 1930s Warning Signs Warns Economist | EJ Antoni
Q: Do you think economic growth can continue even without free trade?
Ej Antoni argues that growth can continue but the direction is uncertain due to tariff dynamics; he emphasizes the need for policy clarity and cautions that ongoing negotiations and protectionist trends could dampen growth, while acknowledging that free trade generally supports expansion.
‘Economic Catastrophe' If This Continues, Only One Way Out Says Economist | Steve Hanke
Q: Wouldn't large-scale changes in monetary policy or wage policies help alleviate inflation and inequality?
The guest argues that simply raising wages or changing policy in isolation won't resolve deeper monetary causes of inflation; instead, a stable, predictable growth in the money supply and a neutral policy framework are needed to avoid distortions and maintain balance in the economy.
‘Economic Catastrophe' If This Continues, Only One Way Out Says Economist | Steve Hanke
Q: What is the way out? How do we avoid this economic catastrophe?
The interviewee suggests implementing a negotiated settlement that preserves open sea lanes and allows open markets to function, emphasizing that the 'big players' and political maneuvers need to be managed to prevent a full-blown economic collapse; he also points to monetary policy as a lever to stabilize the system, while warning against overreliance on interventionism.
Iran War Escalates: Global Economy Just Changed Forever | Edward Fishman
Q: Why hasn't a more aggressive military option been pursued to guarantee open passages, given the strategic importance?
White House and military leaders acknowledge the risks of large-scale conflict and the high costs of occupying elements of Iran's coastline; the discussion centers on the political unpopularity of such campaigns in the US and the preference for economic and diplomatic tools to manage access while avoiding a costly war.
