There’s more news and less comprehension today than any historical period that didn’t involve literal witch trials, and trying to stay on top of it all can feel like playing a game of telephone with 30 people, except everyone’s speaking at the same time and like a third of them are openly racist for some reason. From Cracked co-founder Jack O’Brien, THE DAILY ZEITGEIST is stepping into that fray w... more

I always look forward to hearing what they have to say about current events. It's humorous and poignant There's a nice mix of absurdity and silliness in each episode that always elicits at least one giggle like I'm 9 and someone said the word "fart" in class.
I’ve loved Jack since the Cracked days and I found Miles through this pod and I think he’s maybe the funniest person who’s ever existed. They are both so good together when they banter and complain about the news and play old viral videos and talk about raising kids - I’d listen to them for hours! Love them!
They’re all amazing, truly, but more Jacquis, please!
i’ve listened for a long time, big fan of the show. really appreciate its class-conscious worldview, but some of its guests occasionally seem a little out-of-touch. for example, it was kind of jarring to hear someone claim that “everyone is bicoastal now” when i and many people i know can’t even afford to take off work, let alone travel.
i think i’ve heard someone on this show theorize that people are usually only familiar with their own class and the levels immediately above and below it, and... more
I love DZ. I’ve been a long time daily listener. Some days it’s the only news I can handle. I just want to say though that I’m seriously disappointed that you have not discussed the CNN report about the Motherless site. It’s sickening and ongoing. It needs to be addressed. You have many amazing female guests who could contribute if it’s uncomfortable.

The show mixes sharp political and cultural critique with quick-witted, free-wramble banter. Hosts dissect current events, media narratives, and pop culture moments through humorous, participatory commentary, often pairing quick takes with longer riffs and guest insights. A signature thread is balancing skepticism about power and media with accessible humor, plus recurring segments and rotating guests that bring expertise from entertainment, sports, and culture. Listeners likely appreciate candid analysis, satire, and up-to-the-minute takes on headlines, with a knack for turning complex topics into engaging conversations. A standout is the broad guest slate—from comedians and writers to industry commentators—creating a dynamic, conversation... more
