There’s more news and less comprehension today than any historical period that didn’t involve literal witch trials, and trying to stay on top of it all can feel like playing a game of telephone with 30 people, except everyone’s speaking at the same time and like a third of them are openly racist for some reason. From Cracked co-founder Jack O’Brien, THE DAILY ZEITGEIST is stepping into that fray w... more

i’ve listened for a long time, big fan of the show. really appreciate its class-conscious worldview, but some of its guests occasionally seem a little out-of-touch. for example, it was kind of jarring to hear someone claim that “everyone is bicoastal now” when i and many people i know can’t even afford to take off work, let alone travel.
i think i’ve heard someone on this show theorize that people are usually only familiar with their own class and the levels immediately above and below it, and... more
I love DZ. I’ve been a long time daily listener. Some days it’s the only news I can handle. I just want to say though that I’m seriously disappointed that you have not discussed the CNN report about the Motherless site. It’s sickening and ongoing. It needs to be addressed. You have many amazing female guests who could contribute if it’s uncomfortable.
In a time when we need an urgent rise in class consciousness, why create a series dedicated to celebrity worship? It is counterproductive and a total disconnect from the reality many of us are experiencing day to day.
I’ve listened to these guys since the beginning. Just stellar! Really niche references that only the olds will get 🤣 The episode I’m listening to today with Holly Brown is pure gold.
I do recommend skipping any episodes with PVG…those are un-listenable, which is a bummer.
The best! I listen to this every morning, for a comedic catch up on the news. Love this pod for making me hate the world a little less every day! Please stop having Chris Crofton on. He’s so obnoxious? And takes up twice the time as any other guest. Literally an hour of him in this mornings episode. WHY! I Don’t listen to this show for 20 mins on Croftons search history.
