  • Favorite Artists Podcast

As a professional full time oil painter I spend a lot of time listening to artist podcasts. Andrew’s is by far my favorite. He covers so many topics and asks great questions of his guests. It’s been really helpful to me!

I often listen as I walk through the wood here in South Eastern Iowa as my inspirational start to the day before I hit the studio. Andrew is 100% the best interviewer not to mention a fantastic painter. Keep it up Andrew 👏🏻

Episode #94 -Stephanie Gaffney – Thriving as a Creative Entrepreneur
Q: How is business going for you?
It has been kind of the question for every year. I've been doing this for 10 years and have approached a fork in the road many times.
Episode #94 -Stephanie Gaffney – Thriving as a Creative Entrepreneur
Q: What's one thing that people might not know about you?
I'm pursuing a collaboration with one of the state museums for a big commission installation about Mardi Gras.
Episode #93 - Kathleen Hudson - Breathing Life into Plein Air Landscapes
Q: What advice would you offer to folks that are wanting to go pro?
One of the things that I wish I had done earlier was take workshops. You can devote one weekend to studying with someone whose work you admire and get good critical feedback on your painting.
Episode #92 - Nic Thurman - Crafting Timeless Art
Q: How is this working for you currently? Like, how's it going as a business?
It's difficult. Each person has a certain path, and there's no one true way to monetize painting.
Episode #91 – Jeff Watts – Teaching the Next Generation of Artists!
Q: How do you feel about AI in art?
Watts expresses that while AI has the potential to change the dynamics of creative industries, the unique human experience and perspective still hold significant value.
