Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 43 - Build 2026 Recap
Q: What are the trade-offs between Scout (local) and Cowork (cloud) in terms of data access and security?
Scout runs locally and can leverage local tooling like GitHub Copilot CLI, offering greater control and reduced data exposure to the cloud, while Cowork runs in the cloud with centralized access to governance and broader interoperability; organizations must balance control, latency, and data access when choosing between them.
Ep 43 - Build 2026 Recap
Q: How does licensing and cost work for Cowork and Work IQ, especially for organizations?
Cowork uses a usage-based licensing model tied to Copilot credits with tenant-, group-, and user-level budgeting and alerts; Work IQ APIs introduce separate pricing, and access can incur costs even with Copilot licenses, depending on the API usage and context.
Ep 43 - Build 2026 Recap
Q: Tell us more about Cowork and how it differs from traditional Copilot use-cases.
Cowork emphasizes action-oriented, cloud-connected workflows that pull context from across the M365 suite, turning conversations into executable tasks and enabling automatic background processing, which contrasts with the more static, chat-first Copilot experience.
Ep 39 – Closing the AI Implementation Gap with Diana Wolfe
Q: What practical steps can individuals and change leaders take to drive adoption and responsible AI use within their teams?
Start with a personal workflow audit to identify where automation adds intrinsic value, then scale to organizational levels by redefining roles, aligning incentives, and instituting governance for decision rights. Use phased deployments with defined milestones, continuously measure impact on quality and throughput, and ensure human oversight where needed to avoid over-reliance on automated outputs.
Ep 39 – Closing the AI Implementation Gap with Diana Wolfe
Q: Diana, what do you see as the core reason behind the AI implementation gap and how should organizations begin to address it?
The gap arises from a mismatch between what AI tools can do and how work actually gets done, including how people collaborate, governance, and decision rights. Organizations should start with a holistic look at workflows, measure outcomes beyond cost savings, design composite roles that blend technical and human skills, and embed governance and cognitive considerations into the build rather than as a separate afterthought.
