  • Podcast upgrade working

Podcast presenters are much more engaging than the originals. Much more enjoyable to listen too. The last thing to do now is ditch or renew that awful eToro ad at the front and back of the podcast with something more professional and less annoying.

  • “Sell” on “Scuddy”

This podcast could be improved easily and immediately by giving “Scuddy” his marching orders. Long pauses before responding, sounding bored and boring, sounding as though he’d rather be anywhere else. Ditch “Scuddy” and the podcast becomes 4 stars immediately.

  • Inaudible against traffic

Do these guys ever listen to the finished product and compare it with others in podcastland. Don’t bother trying to listen to this one on the bus, in your car or while walking adjacent to traffic. The recording level of these podcasts, whilst generally containing interesting and timely info, make them a waste of listeners’ time while they continue to be recorded at a level that is insufficient against societal noise. I have no such issue with any of the other 20 podcasts I listen to daily or wee... more

  • Audio

I like the show but the audio quality is so bad I can barely hear it and I’ve been trying on and off for many months. Speak to Glenn James from My Millennial Money on how to get good audio.

I’d love to listen to the show but until the audio works it’s pointless.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

the COB: Seek-ing trouble
Q: Do you think CBA's result was weak?
While still better than some expectations, CBA's result reflected slower loan growth and caution about the economy, signaling that the weakness may be more about outlook than current performance.
the COB: earnings hangover
Q: Opening thoughts on market performance today here locally?
Jimmy Jang notes a discrepancy between US overnight moves and local market action, driven by weaker than expected CPI data that supported some risk-on activity, while miners and financials show mixed performance.
the COB: Monday mope
Q: What are you seeing in terms of where the labor market is holding up and what it means for the Fed?
David Scott describes a soft payrolls environment with unemployment near 4.1% and soft wage pressure, suggesting the US data is mixed but leaning toward slower inflation pressures, which could influence Fed rate expectations.
the COB: Friday fatigue
Q: What should we be watching for in the US data to gauge the next policy move?
Markets are watching tonight's non-farm payrolls for whether payroll gains surprise to the upside and whether core inflation shows signs of a rebound; a stronger-than-expected inflation print could push expectations toward a rate hike by the end of the year, while softer data may keep rate paths more accommodative.
the COB: Friday fatigue
Q: What is driving the current buoyancy in equity markets?
Strong earnings momentum in the US, a supportive commodity complex (including copper), and a relatively constructive inflation backdrop are underpinning market strength, with investors focusing on how earnings sustain valuations and how inflation prints will influence the Fed's next moves.
