  • Throat clearing is constant, overtakes message.

Really like the info. Even when the male host is speaking several sentences and the woman host is not she doesn’t shut her mike off and continues to do some nauseating throat clearing. I’ve tried to overlook it but it’s obnoxious and gross. It’s not your basic throat clearing, it is of the colorful variety (YUCK!) and very lengthy. • Motivating and Educational!

I read about The Clutter Fairy on Reddit, and it’s the best podcast for decluttering! Gayle and Ed bring a sense of community to the tasks by including surveys and comments from listeners. I’ve been listening while I declutter, so it feels like I have coaches cheering me on as I go! I love their smart, kind approach. The topics are so well organized, with research to back up the tips. Thank you, Gayle and Ed!

Q: Is there a magic wand to get it done?
There isn't a magic wand; success comes from choosing the right tools for you, clarifying priorities, and being deliberate about how you spend time rather than reacting to every demand.

Q: How do you make a new routine stick?
Treat routine-building as a gradual process: reduce barriers, schedule consistent blocks, and accept occasional lapses; restart without guilt and gradually increase commitment as momentum builds.

Q: What are your best tips to help people get started on undesirable tasks?
Start with action first, then the motivation follows; focus on the end result, pair tasks with accountability (a partner), and consider body doubling or scheduling a shared time to make the task less lonely and more doable.
Special Guest: Karen Baker on Productivity, Routines, and More - The Clutter Fairy Weekly #301
Q: What method do you use to help your clients with time blindness?
We use time awareness tools like timers, time blocking with color-coded blocks on calendars, and visual aids such as time timers to make the passage of time concrete, plus coaching on realistic planning and boundaries.

Q: Should you declutter when you're angry?
It can be risky because anger reduces patience and can drive impulsive decisions; the recommended approach is to wait until emotions settle or use low-cognitive-load tasks like cleaning to channel energy without making major decisions.
