  • Thank you for being real!

Your podcast is my go to when I need tips, tricks, and motivation. Also, I wanted to tell Tanya that we don’t have a bathroom countertop or cabinet under the sink either. My solution is a cute sink skirt. I love it that you gals don’t have perfect mansions to work and live in. We raised four daughters with this one bathroom. They learned valuable lessons on sharing, time management, and scheduling techniques. šŸ˜‰

  • Always So Kind…?

I am a longtime fan and follower of Kathi (love the books, the show, etc.), but lately I have felt like I am not the listener/follower that Tonya and Kathi like. In today’s show, Tonya had derogatory remarks about ā€œEvangelicalsā€ that didn’t at all reflect who I am or anyone I know (I’m an Evangelical Christian). I was in BSF for many years, and I ABSOLUTELY was allowed to speak even when I didn’t do my homework, Kathi. And I’m conservative politically. Please don’t paint us all with a wide brush... more

When Knowing It's Clutter Isn't Enough to Let It Go
Q: What are you telling people that they've tried before they found what you have talked about?
Katy explains that many decluttering methods focus on perfect results or showroom-ready spaces, which aren't realistic for most families. Her approach emphasizes emotional readiness, sustainable habits, and addressing underlying beliefs about money, scarcity, and identity, which helps people stay consistent even when life is messy.
The Overpacker's Guide to Smarter Travel (Without the Guilt)
Q: What drives you to overpack, and how do you shift that mindset?
Barb explains that wanting options and the fear of being unprepared drive overpacking, but she has learned to mitigate by planning with packing cubes, deciding what's essential, and accepting that some days require different outfits. She emphasizes realistic preparation and margins for change.
When Nobody Wants Your Stuff: Smart Alternatives When Thrift Stores Say No
Q: What do you do when thrift stores are overwhelmed and donations aren't moving, and Facebook Marketplace isn't working?
Try alternative avenues like Buy Nothing groups, consignment events, community swaps, and asking local schools or shelters for where to donate; keep a simple, on-route drop-off plan to make it easy for you and donors.
Why Cluttery People Need Spiritual Giants (And How to Find Yours)
Q: First of all, can you just tell me why Mr. Rogers?
Lori explains that Mr. Rogers stood out because of his attention to people, his kindness, listening, and faith-filled life which makes him a powerful model for everyday virtue.
Stop Shame Cleaning: How to Build Systems That Work on Your Worst Days
Q: How do we interrupt the shame and start moving toward positive, sensible steps instead of spiraling in guilt?
Shift from a perfection mindset to a practical framework by redefining cleaning as a set of simple, repeatable actions. Recognize your current capacity, choose one small, doable anchor for the day (like clearing a surface or starting the dishes), and build from there with kindness toward yourself.
