New grad PMHNP and loving this on my commute.
Current podcast attempts to present material as factual when in actuality it is CLEARLY editorializing…. It even employs hackneyed techniques such as voice tone and soundtrack.
I love listening to this podcast to stay on top of the latest treatments. Please consider doing an episode on generic drugs, how they may be affecting treatment, and practical recommendations. I’m reading the book “Bottle of Lies” by Katherine Eban and I would love to know Dr. Aiken’s take, which is always fair and balanced. Thanks Dr. Aiken and Ms. Kelli!
Carlat has become my #1 go-to resource when it comes to evidence based psychiatry. In the podcast, they do a great job navigating medications, cultural issues as well as therapeutic interventions. If I were to recommend any resource, this would be the first.
Please stop reading the scripts. Spend some time getting to know what you’re going to say and make it more casual and easy to listen to. It’s painful to hear these stilted voices just reading text. I can’t do it. We are not babies—we are professionals.

The show provides concise, evidence-based updates on clinical psychiatry with a practical focus for frontline providers. Episodes frequently cover treatment guidelines, pharmacology, and evolving practices in mood, anxiety, and personality disorders, often weaving in case examples, CME components, and commentary on policy and research updates. A notable strength is its bias-free, clinician-facing approach and the ability to translate complex research into bite-sized guidance for everyday practice. The format tends to be tight, informative, and CME-friendly, making it attractive to practicing clinicians seeking quick, credible updates and tools to apply at the bedside.
