No partisanship, no corporate masters, just the right questions being asked and information being delivered by two bright minds, without an agenda or concern for popular but false narratives. Bravo and thanks.

  • Great, but would like to hear the full episode!

I’m really enjoying this podcast, and think Jake’s and Andrew’s incisive analysis is spot on. I am a subscriber, but don’t do substack. I find it a bit annoying, therefore, that the podcast ends prematurely, and to hear the whole episode, I would have to pay via substack. This seems rather mean, and surely it’s more important to get the message out there, to as many people as possible, rather than making money out of it. Other podcasts issue the podcast early to their followers on substack, and ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

“I Was No Friend Of Israel… Then I Went There” | Claire Fox On The Collapse Of Britain
Q: Is the current street-level activism a symptom of a problem or healthy free speech?
She describes it as mixed: it signals democratic disillusion and nihilism at times, but also reflects a live, contested public square where people push back against established norms.
“I Was No Friend Of Israel… Then I Went There” | Claire Fox On The Collapse Of Britain
Q: What do you think are the cultural forces that led us to this point?
Fox attributes the shift to a combination of elite disengagement from ordinary voters, the rise of identity and culture wars, and a broader move towards managerial politics that disenfranchised traditional bases, leading to a populist backlash.
Who’s the real winner? Air Marshal Edward Stringer on Iran, NATO & Western Decline
Q: And all of this brings us back to Iran. What's your take on Iran now, where we stand, and prospects of success?
He argues that no one has defined clear success for Iran and stresses that a military approach alone cannot resolve the problem; a combination of diplomacy, restraint, and credible political outcomes is essential for any lasting progress.
Who’s the real winner? Air Marshal Edward Stringer on Iran, NATO & Western Decline
Q: So if you could start by just telling us a bit about your background, your career.
Stringer outlines a career as a fast-jet pilot, multiple command roles, involvement in Libya 2011, and later positions focusing on operations and future warfare, emphasizing the need to combine air power with ground actions and political strategy.
‘Hezbollah is the enemy of humanity’ | Lebanese expert Makram Rabah
Q: What would it take to change Hezbollah's role in Lebanon and reduce its influence?
A combination of accountability, declaring Hezbollah a terrorist organization, reforming the judiciary and banking systems, and reducing Iran's leverage—ultimately empowering the Lebanese state to operate independently of militia networks.
