  • Great, but would like to hear the full episode!

I’m really enjoying this podcast, and think Jake’s and Andrew’s incisive analysis is spot on. I am a subscriber, but don’t do substack. I find it a bit annoying, therefore, that the podcast ends prematurely, and to hear the whole episode, I would have to pay via substack. This seems rather mean, and surely it’s more important to get the message out there, to as many people as possible, rather than making money out of it. Other podcasts issue the podcast early to their followers on substack, and ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

“The West must suffer to wake up”: Ukraine war snapper on the horror he saw first hand
Q: Chris, can I conclude by asking you a personal question?
He explains his motivation rooted in family history, his desire to understand his grandfather and the calling he felt to document suffering, and the deep personal connections formed with people he meets on the ground.
CIA Iran expert: This war will change global power
Q: What is the likely endgame for Iran and the region?
The guest suggests a range of outcomes from continued conflict with evolving GCC cooperation to deeper Iran–GCC integration in defense and cyber capabilities, with the normalization of Israel likely but dependent on Iran's trajectory and regional responses.
CIA Iran expert: This war will change global power
Q: Is air power enough to topple the regime or succeed in changing Iran from the air?
The guest argues that removing the regime via air power alone is unlikely; internal dynamics, intelligence, and political constraints mean any change must be accompanied by domestic leadership considerations and not rely solely on strikes from above.
CIA Iran expert: This war will change global power
Q: What surprised you about how the campaign has unfolded and Iran's response so far?
The guest notes that the campaign has largely tracked with expectations, highlighting the scale of US military presence and the resilience of Gulf states in defending against Iranian missiles and drones, while also stressing the strategic complexity of countering Iran's broader security architecture.
Iran War: How the UN has been hijacked with Hillel Neuer
Q: What role is the UN playing here?
The UN is portrayed as biased and slow to act on protesters, while Neuer argues it condemns actions by the US and Israel more readily, reflecting a broader pattern of anti-Western and anti-Israel sentiment within UN bodies.
