  • Great overall, but Furedi needs to seek help for his “TDS”

Were it not for the fact that I’ve enjoyed so many of your other programmes, I’d be very tempted to leave an unfavourable rating for subjecting your loyal audience to 45 minutes of Frank Furedi. The man is a crank who lets his own political preferences completely colour any “analysis.” In a similar vein, little more can be said for Spectator confrère

Rod Liddle, whose slovenly everyman schtick is as tired as his ersatz acumen.

There’s plenty of Trump hysteria to be found elsewhere. Do you reall... more

  • Blind to His Own Bigotry

O’Neill is a “useful idiot,” ostensibly opposed to the Islamists & the totalitarians, but parroting their talking points about the evils of the West.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why men are signing up for women’s basketball | Fiona McAnena
Q: What role do policy changes, like the IOC's statements or national associations' rules, play in shaping what's considered fair competition?
Policy shifts are presented as turning points that could restore clarity, with the IOC's stance cited as moving toward ensuring eligibility is verified in female categories, thereby reducing the sense that men are unfairly competing in women's events.
Why men are signing up for women’s basketball | Fiona McAnena
Q: Kick-off question: what sparked the recent attention around men entering the women's basketball space, and what are the core arguments on both sides?
The discussion centers on protecting girls and women in sport while acknowledging broader debates about gender identity, with arguments that sport should preserve sex-based categories due to physical advantages, while opponents urge inclusion and challenge what they see as restrictive definitions.
FROM THE ARCHIVE: Rod Liddle, RIP
Q: What did you see as the biggest shift in global politics influencing Britain recently?
Rod points to Trump's election as a catalyst that reframed political boundaries, inspiring populist movements worldwide and creating new electoral dynamics that Britain could mirror or react to in its own way.
FROM THE ARCHIVE: Rod Liddle, RIP
Q: I did want to ask you about Woke. How do you see its trajectory shaping British politics?
Rod argues that woke discourse has peaked in some areas and is waning in others, prompting a reckoning and a retrenchment toward older forms of political argument, while noting that underlying social friction remains a live issue.
Labour’s plot to control what you see online | Toby Young
Q: Do you think Britain would benefit from a free speech bill or a bill of rights?
Yes, there is support for a robust free speech framework that strengthens protections beyond what Article 10 (ECHR) offers, potentially modeled after the U.S. First Amendment, to better safeguard expression as public discourse evolves online and in courts.
