  • Great overall, but Furedi needs to seek help for his “TDS”

Were it not for the fact that I’ve enjoyed so many of your other programmes, I’d be very tempted to leave an unfavourable rating for subjecting your loyal audience to 45 minutes of Frank Furedi. The man is a crank who lets his own political preferences completely colour any “analysis.” In a similar vein, little more can be said for Spectator confrère

Rod Liddle, whose slovenly everyman schtick is as tired as his ersatz acumen.

  • Blind to His Own Bigotry

O’Neill is a “useful idiot,” ostensibly opposed to the Islamists & the totalitarians, but parroting their talking points about the evils of the West.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

‘Populism is the engine of democracy’ | Frank Furedi
Q: What role does democracy play in the populist moment, and how could it look going forward?
Democracy is energized when ordinary people feel represented; populism urges greater participation and voice, moving beyond merely procedural voting to a more meaningful engagement with political life that rescues the public's sense of home and future direction.
‘Populism is the engine of democracy’ | Frank Furedi
Q: How does immigration feature in your framework of populism and the sense of home?
Immigration is often instrumentalized within a multicultural framework that is seen as eroding homogeneous communities; populism, however, emphasizes preserving a sense of home and belonging, arguing that the issue is less about migrants themselves and more about the cultural dynamics they enter into.
‘Populism is the engine of democracy’ | Frank Furedi
Q: Can you explain the origins of populism and the 'double betrayal of the people' by elites?
The double betrayal refers to elites abandoning core cultural values and then adopting technocratic, top-down approaches combined with a leftward shift toward green and identity politics, which left many people without traditional representation and catalyzed a populist response.
‘Populism is the engine of democracy’ | Frank Furedi
Q: What have you made of the recent local and parliamentary elections in the UK in relation to your thesis about populism?
They signal a decline of the two-party duopoly and a demand for new representation, showing that populist sentiment remains robust and capable of reshaping political landscapes beyond a single protest moment.
‘The globalists have failed Britain’ | Laila Cunningham
Q: What's your vision for London under Reform?
A city where housing is affordable, policing is effective, and growth is driven by empowering people and small businesses, not by endless regulation or shifting blame onto migrants or identity politics.
