The Bleeders is a podcast (and support group!) about book writing and publishing. Transparent conversations with authors, agents, and people in the publishing industry about how to write and sell books. The title is a nod to the famous (potentially misattributed) Hemingway quote: “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” Sign up for The Bleeders companion Sub... more

The new year is upon us, which has got me thinking about my writing-related resolutions, and how to accomplish them. So today’s episode is all about writing practice — the daily grind of it, the unsexy truth about how we manifest our writing goals by... more
Today's guest is Chelsea Martin. I adore indie queens like Chelsea. She has been incredibly prolific thus far in her literary career, and I love her "just do it" approach to publishing. We talk about how to balance perfectionist tendencies with being... more
Today's guest Chloe Caldwell has forged her own unique path in the literary scene, and it’s one that I really admire. In this throwback episode, she gives us the play by play for how she became the author of four books — Legs Get Led Astray, Women, I... more

Listened to my first episode today based off a video I saw on YouTube. Absolutely loved the episode and I’m not even a writer! Only downside was that the episode was a short version of what’s available on YouTube. I personally prefer podcasts while driving as I can’t watch a YouTube video. Hopefully future episode are full length
So many different ways and methods of the writing process. A great podcast for finding out what style works for particular personalities.
I haven’t publicly shared this with anyone yet but I decided to write my Lizzie Borden book based on my Substack hypothesis and podcast series so keep it to yourself, lol. 🌹 This is the perfect amount of shared pain that I need to keep myself from feeling so alone during the process. 💜
There's a ton of book pods out there, but even after just a few episodes, Courtney Kocak has carved out a niche for herself. She's funny, and occasionally potty-mouthed and irreverent -- and really smart about writing. There's frequently great banter between host and guest. And I love the fact she focuses a lot on memoir and essays too (my favorite forms). Excited for new episodes!!!
