  • Love TBR

I just finished my 1st chronological read through with TBR and am starting my 2nd. I love this resource to help me dig deeper the 2nd time through. The one thing keeping me from digging into this podcast daily is the distracting use of the word “totally’, lol. I can’t unhear it, and then it’s the only thing I hear!

  • TBR fan

Great addition! I’ve done TBR for 4 years and I am still gleaning additional insights from this podcast. Only one suggestion, please only one person talk at a time. Talking at the same time or over each other doesn’t work in

the podcast world. It’s very unpleasant to the listening

    audience.

  • Gets better every week!

I am on my 4th year of The Bible Recap with Tara Leigh. Adding the Deep Dive to my routine this year has been very helpful as many of the questions that are addressed are the same ones I wrestle with. Even when the questions are not as relevant to me personally , hearing how the hosts respond to those questions helps me better articulate my own beliefs.

In my opinion, the podcast has improved each week. My favorite episode so far is the most recent one which included a question about how God... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Week 33 (Days 225-231): Are false prophets still around today?
Q: How exactly does God write the law on our hearts under the new covenant?
The Holy Spirit dwells within believers, transforming internal desires so that obedience to God becomes natural and energized from within, not just external compliance. This internal change leads to a life that loves and obeys God because of the Spirit's work, while remaining grounded in gospel truth and Christian community.
Week 33 (Days 225-231): Are false prophets still around today?
Q: Are false prophets still around today? And what should we do if we hear them?
Yes, false prophets exist today as anyone who claims to speak for God but teaches something untrue about Him or His Word. To guard against them, test teachings against Scripture, consult reliable commentaries and pastors, seek the counsel of mature believers, and observe the fruit of the teachings to ensure alignment with Christ.
Week 31 (Days 211-217): Does God reject us because of our sin?
Q: What does it mean that the everlasting covenant is an unbreakable promise to bring lasting life and leadership to God's people beyond their failures?
It points to God's steadfast faithfulness across covenants, with Jesus as the ultimate fulfillment, offering forgiveness, transformation, and a kingdom that endures beyond exile or human faithfulness.
Week 30 (Days 204-210): What if it feels like God isn't giving me what I need?
Q: How should we understand the promises in Isaiah 40 about renewing strength, and does waiting imply passivity or inactivity?
Waiting for the Lord is an active posture of dependence and trust; strength is given to keep going, not a guaranteed immediate physical boost, so we should remain engaged in prayer and action while trusting God's timing.
Week 30 (Days 204-210): What if it feels like God isn't giving me what I need?
Q: Our first question asks why Hezekiah asks Isaiah to pray rather than praying himself, and whether praying with others is more powerful.
Because the context shows intercession as a communal act of faith; leadership intercedes for others, and the community's shared prayer can strengthen and mobilize God's people in times of distress.
