I’m agnostic but former Mormon and this show heals a lot of childhood trauma for me. Even though the hosts are still actively Christian and they discuss more mainstream Christian topics, the discussions of how evangelical behaviors have traumatized them as well really heals my wounds because we’re not alone. Knowing that so many were affected by purity cultural and are healing and growing is amazing. Also, just knowing that some people can deconstruct but come back to their faith is really amazi... more
This crew helps me process our crazy world with nuanced conversations, open mindfulness, and laughter! Thanks for helping me restore my faith in so many ways!
I miss the old Bible Binge format where hosts would go deep on a subject and bring greater insight to it. This current format seems to sarcastic and snarky and if all the listeners don’t think exactly the same as the hosts then they’re wrong. It feels like they are just tearing everyone down. I miss the deep dives into Bible stories where I learned things and possible motivations for why the Bible characters were like they were. I guess it’s time to unfollow.
This is the podcast for the frustrated Christian, and I am here for it. I don’t want to depart from my faith, but there are questions that NEED to be discussed in today’s day and age, and the hosts do an amazing job of laying it all out there while also making you laugh a little.
