  • A good listener

Chris had a great interview with Billy Idol. He asked thoughtful questions and actively listened and allowed Billy to answer. Not as common as you would think but happily Chris knew to give Billy a chance to be heard. Too many hosts seem to forget that the guest needs to be heard and finish their thought(s) without interruption.

  • Terrible sound quality

Why is the sound quality so bad on this podcast? It’s recorded very quiet & there is no bass or low frequency whatsoever in Chris’s voice. It’s very weird. Has nobody else noticed this?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The TFI Wednesday one with Ed Gamble
Q: First ever gig. Give me your first ever gig. Where was it?
My first ever gig was in Wimbledon as part of a So You Think You're Funny heat; I treated it as a forced commitment to perform and I then did a very different material on the semi-final three months later, realizing how much I still needed to grow while continuing to pursue stand-up.
The TFI Tuesday one with Rose Ayling-Ellis
Q: How did you get the job that led you to EastEnders?
She explains that she had been working on a TV series (Summer of Rockets) and secured EastEnders through opportunities that arose at the time, noting the lack of deaf actors represented by agents then and crediting the role for launching her television career.
The TFI Friday one with Sara Pascoe & Gennaro Contaldo
Q: What's your philosophy about exploring Italy and its regions?
Gennaro believes many tourists miss out on the true essence of Italy, and there are countless hidden gems across the country.
The TFI Friday one with Sara Pascoe & Gennaro Contaldo
Q: What would you say about the differences in energy and engagement you experience with different audiences?
Sara mentions there is a spectrum of performing where some guests require more effort to engage than others, but seasoned performers understand this instinctively.
The one with Jennifer Shahade
Q: What is the significance of the number seven in choices?
People often pick seven because it's an odd number that's relatively high but not too high; it reflects a balance of self-esteem.
