  • My Prayers Were Answered

Raised in the church my whole life I’ve pew hopped my way through a few different denominations. I left in 2013 with some church hurt. I Just recently with the political climate in the States I started discovering podcasts on religion, deconstructing, Christian nationalism ect…

But I need my bad news mixed with comedy so it goes down better.

I was actually trying to search someone talking about Christian Science when I found this podcast. I listened to 1, then 2, I picked a few topics I liked an... more

  • Great show!

I may not have been quite as devout as you were when I belonged to a church, specifically the Episcopal church, but I did decide that I couldn’t stand the hypocrisy that was evident in the Christian religion as a whole! So I became an atheist, although to be fair, as I mentioned before, I never really did believe in all of the miracles and the virgin birth thing, and I was ALWAYS questioning things, it’s just the type of person that I am, I make a point of not taking everything at face value, an... more

  • Found on YouTube several years ago, haven’t missed an episode since.

I love every episode I have heard. This podcast speaks to me as a xtian-background atheist. I really enjoy the biblical knowledge, heartfelt personal anecdotes, and the opinions shared. The relatability of the topics covered is incredible. American and Canadian xtianity are not much different in practice, but arguably different in scope and level of impact.

I can tell an atheist podcast is speaking to people when religious folks leave nasty reviews. As a former xtian, I can confirm that their c... more

  • You will never know God if you don’t want to know him.

Try Jesus for yourself. Draw your own conclusions. Don’t let anyone tell you who God is; find out for yourself. Don’t judge the faith by the people who claim to be a follower. God does make Himself known to those who wish to know Him.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Churches use many manipulation tactics. Why Does Prez Moy Care?
Q: So I got Pres Moy here, and I'm wondering, Pres, why do you care?
Pres explains that her care comes from a lifelong inclination to observe and speak for the voiceless, aiming to illuminate uncomfortable truths that others may not discuss openly.
Using technology to understand the bible. Why Does Godless Engineer Care?
Q: What is stylometry and how does it help test hypotheses about early Christian texts?
Stylometry is a method that analyzes writing style and vocabulary to infer authorship and dating; the guest describes using it to compare Paulines with the Gospels and to test claims like Marcian priority, including developing Bayesian methods for probabilistic assessments.
Using technology to understand the bible. Why Does Godless Engineer Care?
Q: Why do you care about these biblical and apologetic topics when you don't believe in God?
The guest argues that beliefs inform actions and that understanding them helps prevent real-world harm, while also highlighting the importance of challenging accepted narratives to prevent manipulation and to encourage critical thinking.
Why Does Joshua Colburn (The Original Sinfluencer) Care?
Q: Why do you care about religion and the deconstruction space?
Joshua explains that his care comes from personal healing, accountability, and a sense of responsibility after experiencing and witnessing harm within church systems; the work helps others heal and reconnect with reality.
Why Does Drew McCoy (Genetically Modified Skeptic) Care?
Q: Drew, why do you care about these topics despite not being religious?
Because religion and politics shape everyday life and human welfare, so I focus on issues that affect people and strive to discuss them to help others navigate those realities.
