  • An intelligent offering that lands with authenticity

I have profound respect for the effort Ben puts into accessing varied voices and providing space for their offerings. He shows such interest and genuine humility as he interviews guests. I have learned more than I can state, but have also felt oddly “seen” through his selection of guests and thoughtful questions. It’s like the professional version of “Hot Ones”, and I love it!

  • Worst podcast ever

I’m a fan of behavior psychology and I think this is the worst experience ever. The acoustics are horrendous. You have trouble getting the talk. It’s such a torture.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Intergenerational Trauma and the 1947 Partition with Dr. Ammara Khalid
Q: What role does culture play in healing compared to traditional Western therapies?
Culture provides language, rituals, and community supports that Western therapies may overlook; integrating religion, music, and family-centered approaches creates a more resonant and effective healing path for South Asian communities.
Intergenerational Trauma and the 1947 Partition with Dr. Ammara Khalid
Q: How does silence function in this trauma, and how can families begin to talk about it?
Silence often protected people from immediate danger but prevented sharing experiences; healing starts with compassionate inquiry, flexible boundaries, and culturally grounded practices like letters to ancestors or narrative exercises that invite rather than force disclosure.
Intergenerational Trauma and the 1947 Partition with Dr. Ammara Khalid
Q: Can you explain what made the partition so pivotal in South Asian history?
The partition was a rapid, violent reconfiguration of borders that displaced millions, led to widespread trauma, and generated enduring legacies of grief and resilience that continue to shape identities and family dynamics across generations.
Bridging Practice and Training: Lessons from ONTABA 2025
Q: What is skill-based treatment (SBT) and what problem does it solve?
SBT is a method to teach clients to communicate and tolerate new tasks by gradually increasing tolerance and building skills, aiming for happy, relaxed, and engaged learning and reducing reliance on punitive approaches.
Bridging Practice and Training: Lessons from ONTABA 2025
Q: What is the book Complex Kids, Simple Solutions about and who is it for?
The book provides resources for families and professionals, written in accessible, jargon-free language, with practical examples and a framework called Prepare, Teach, Motivate to address common parenting challenges.
