  • Moving

I was moved by the whole episode with SN. At the end particularly when Josh Baehr says to her in response to something she was saying about being sort of pigeonholed: “You are a great artist. You are not a great artist from Bushwick. You are not a great artist from Iran. You are not a great artist from America. You are a great artist.” I started to cry, actually. Thanks, Josh Baehr for speaking your heart to the art world.

  • A turn off

This is the first unfavorable podcast review I have ever felt compelled to write. Really wanted to learn about the art market and corrections it might be going through but found the episode unhelpful/uniformative and the attitude of the speaker felt like he was “above” all of us listeners. I thought you might want to know how it came off to at least this one listener.

Art Advisor Erica Samuels on The Baer Faxt Live from Art Basel 2026
Q: If two clients both like the same Richard Prince, what happens?
The advisor would acknowledge shared interest and determine priority based on client dynamics and internal systems, ensuring a fair process while balancing client relationships and potential competition for the work.
The Art of the Court with Jonas Wood & John McEnroe
Q: What is the studio approach to composing these tennis-inspired paintings?
Jonas Wood explains that he works from photographs, arranges elements in the background, and adds intentional color and texture to capture the feel of a match rather than a perfect reproduction, using repetition and variation to build a cohesive body of work.
To the Stars with Ahmed Mater
Q: What is your KPI as an artist at Art Basel, given the emphasis on metrics in the industry?
The KPI for me is about how I feel and how others feel, not a traditional metric; art is about intangible impact and human interaction rather than numerical targets.
Mariët Westermann, The Baer Faxt Live from Doha 2026
Q: What do you think about the role of women in the art ecosystem, especially in relation to the Guggenheim?
Women have been involved in the leadership of the Guggenheim from the start, yet there is a broader hesitancy in the U.S. and Europe to appoint women as leaders in major museums.
Mariët Westermann, The Baer Faxt Live from Doha 2026
Q: How would you say the education in the Gulf in general, and maybe it's different in different regions?
Education in the Gulf, particularly in the UAE and Qatar, has evolved significantly, but there's still a need for foundational educational systems to support the higher arts education that is developing.
