  • An AI podcast that won’t bore you to death

The perfect antidote to all this dry, overly technical AI coverage. Yet it is incredibly informative, with Graham and Mark making complex AI developments understandable without dumbing them down.

5 ways the AI bubble could burst
Q: When did you start to see AI take off, and has it turned out the way you expected?
The guest recalls the early excitement around 2022, with a recognition that the initial AI tech needed to prove itself; the belief then was that the next wave would come as benchmarks showed steady, rapid improvements, which validated continued investment.
AIs want to nuke us all (and the anthropologist who saw it coming)
Q: The car wash problem is a human vs AI reasoning test. What does Lianne think this reveals about AI intelligence?
Lianne notes that while some models can see the problem and reason about distances, they are still driven by a strong, ingrained heuristic to walk short distances, which indicates a gap between pattern recognition and flexible real-world reasoning in AI.
OpenAI's $6.5 billion pen and the AIs obsessed with Tokyo’s weather
Q: When should I start worrying about AI?
You should start worrying when humans get their hands on it, as they can use it for deceptive practices.
OpenAI's $6.5 billion pen and the AIs obsessed with Tokyo’s weather
Q: What is AI going to be doing with its spare time?
They'll likely be using social media to solve big problems, rather than engaging in trivial content.
The big AI bubble, and robot Grandma in the cloud
Q: Are we in an AI bubble?
Graham suggests that they are not sharing the same AI bubble, with CEOs expressing concerns about a financial bubble while still building on and investing in AI technologies.
