  • This is a great podcast for recovery from betrayal

Having attended the weekend workshop, I have learned a lot from the trauma of being betrayed. It becomes a community you don’t want to belong to, but am so thankful for! There is so much content from after the weekend workshop to after and the year following! The podcast is another tool in the tool belt of recovery and moving forward! Well done!

  • There is Hope!

A little over 3 years ago, my world was turned upside down and I did not know where to turn. I could not tell our friends or family because I did not want them to think less of him… but the way he continued to “act out” it was obvious to everyone he chose a different path, ending our almost 30 year marriage.

Affair Recovery was life-saving for me! It gave me Hope, it re-directed me to become “better” and not “bitter”.

I needed to know that I, and our 3 kids, were not deserving of all his rejec... more

  • Healing from Infidelity - It’s Possible!

This is exactly the content I’ve been searching for. As someone who was unfaithful, this podcast speaks the truth about infidelity and how to heal. I owe so much to Affair Recovery and I would not have been able to evolve into the person I wanted to become - and - most importantly, I would not still be married to my brave and courageous wife. Please keep these episodes coming!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bonus Ep. | Why It Happened Again: An Unfaithful Man's Story of Real Recovery
Q: How did the first major crisis differ from the second, and what changed in your approach to healing?
The first crisis was followed by a superficial healing and a return to old patterns; the second crisis forced a deeper commitment to healing, with more transparent disclosure, ongoing therapy, and a move toward personal transformation rather than just saving the marriage.
Bonus Ep. | Why It Happened Again: An Unfaithful Man's Story of Real Recovery
Q: What was the turning point that made you realize there had to be more than a band-aid approach to healing?
The acknowledgment that true healing required owning the why behind the infidelity, engaging in consistent therapy, and leveraging structured recovery programs like EMS Weekend to create real boundaries and accountability, rather than just getting back to normal.
Ep. 012 | Does Porn Count As Cheating? Rediscovering True Intimacy
Q: Does porn count as cheating and infidelity in the context of a committed relationship?
The panel emphasizes that porn can be a form of betrayal trauma and a violation of trust, especially when secrecy and lack of consent are involved, and it can be as damaging as real-life infidelity for the betrayed partner.
Ep. 011 | Is My Spouse Being Honest? Truth, Lies & Polygraphs
Q: What role does the polygraph play in disclosure, and is it always necessary?
The polygraph can offer accountability and reassurance to the betrayed partner, but it is not always necessary. It is one option among others, and its use depends on the needs and consent of both partners and the clinical plan.
Ep. 011 | Is My Spouse Being Honest? Truth, Lies & Polygraphs
Q: When should a full formal disclosure occur, and what might it include?
A full formal disclosure is typically done in a therapeutic setting with clinicians present, covering time, place, people involved, and the sequence of events, with a Q&A to ensure understanding and to establish a clear record from A to Z.
