  • New Listener

A friend recommend the podcast this week after we were “debating” where we land on issues. The Sept 12 show, “Suspension of the Rules,” was especially poignant. I just shared the episode via my socials encouraging my friends to take the time to listen. I’ve only listened to three episodes so far and not sure you’re my “type,” but I think you are.

  • Refreshing Balance

I appreciate this podcast for its calm delivery, well-considered viewpoints, and refreshing balance. Maybe I appreciate it because I share many of their views; but I’m pretty conservative politically and still walk away grateful I listened.

  • Not the “best arguments”

I have listened to many episodes hoping the show would provide insights that transcend politics or help me understand diverse political positions. But the content feels no more than an AI search and opinion pieces. And the opinion piece today - I think by Isaac - was too much. An emotional diatribe on political violence when we know NOTHING about who the shooter is or why they did it? Isn’t the whole point of this podcast to not make assumptions? To not jump to conclusions? Of you want to talk ... more

  • Scared

Thank you and your team for battling through the fear and real possibility of violence to keep the conversation going. In a world where many folks think they and their political party are the only voice of truth, and chose violence or support violence to silence their opponents, it’s important to face our fears and stand up against that choice. I’m on the left, scared for the future of our planet and all its life forms, but I’m trying hard to listen to the right and find a way to bridge what see... more

The Nobel Peace Prize debate.
Q: Is Qatar having an air force base in the US as unprecedented as the media is making it seem?

PREVIEW - The Friday Edition Part 2: The Atlantic's Anne Applebaum on the future of the Ukraine war
Q: What do you see as those mistakes as they relate to the situation today?
Applebaum emphasizes that while the Biden administration understood the significance of the war, they were overly cautious in their approach to military action and support for Ukraine.
PREVIEW - The Friday Edition Part 2: The Atlantic's Anne Applebaum on the future of the Ukraine war
Q: What would be the clear signs that this bombing campaign is changing Russia's calculus?
Applebaum discusses the lack of certainty about a definitive turning point but suggests that as the war progresses, there might be a moment when Russian leaders see the war as no longer beneficial.
The Israel–Hamas peace plan.
Q: What are NSPMs and how do they affect laws regarding domestic terrorism?
NSPMs are National Security Presidential Memoranda that guide executive officials on national security matters, but they aren't binding directives and don't revoke laws. NSPM-7 aims to heighten focus on domestic terrorism, but doesn't create new designations or punishments.
