  • Zoom audience is coughing the whole time!

Tried to listen to the Carol Dwerk episode and I’m pretty sure it was hosted over zoom. Interesting stuff from Carol but I couldn’t stand the constant coughing from one of the zoom audience member and you could hear another member using a knive and fork to eat their meal. Zero professional standards.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Map Men | Jay Foreman & Mark Cooper-Jones
Q: For those who don't know, who are Map Men and what started the project?
Map Men began as a playful collaboration between two geography-minded comedians who turned 10-minute map sketches into a broader media project, eventually expanding into a book and other formats. They discuss their origin story and how their shared interests in maps and education evolved into a full-fledged creative partnership.
Charlie Kaufman | I'm Thinking of Ending Things
Q: What inspires you most right now as a writer and storyteller?
I currently don't feel inspired by much, but I did recently read 'Stoner', which was an astounding novel that I recommend.
Charlie Kaufman | I'm Thinking of Ending Things
Q: Do you personally feel a fatalism about life that they can't or won't change?
I'm interested in the struggle rather than the resolution; I think people can change somewhat.
Charlie Kaufman | I'm Thinking of Ending Things
Q: Can you tell us a bit about the novel?
It's about a film critic who stumbles upon a recluse making a stop-motion animation for 90 years, ultimately leading to a surreal conclusion.
Alfredo Garcia | Let's Make It! A Mexican-American Culinary Adventure
Q: How do you take spiciness into consideration for your cookbook?
There's a note in the introduction explaining how to adjust spiciness by using fewer peppers or removing seeds from jalapeños, for instance, making recipes adaptable for different spice tolerances.
