  • Fantastic content guys!

I was born and raised in Detroit and have been a lifelong, suffering Lions fan. I now live in Pittsburgh and consume Lions podcasts all week, every time I walk my dog. There are good Lions podcasts and bad ones, but yours is one of the best and one of my absolute favorites! I can’t tell you how happy it makes me when I open the Apple Podcasts app and see that I have a fresh new episode of Talking Grit waiting for me to listen to. The crossover/interview shows are my favorite. I wasn’t the hugest... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Is Gibbs vs. Bijan the New Barry vs. Emmitt? (with Ryan Mathews): Part 2
Q: If Bijan signs first for $24 million a year, what happens with Gibbs?
The group agrees that Gibbs would demand parity or more, which could force the Lions to adjust quickly, potentially pushing them to sign Gibbs before Bijan and set a higher benchmark for the next running back deals.
Is Gibbs vs. Bijan the New Barry vs. Emmitt? (with Ryan Mathews): Part 2
Q: You buying any of this hold in, hold out stuff, Ryan?
Ryan argues Gibbs has leverage and that the Lions should preemptively structure a deal to avoid a drawn-out holdout, potentially paying Gibbs around $20 million per year to neutralize the risk and keep him happy as a cornerstone of the offense.
Is Gibbs vs. Bijan the New Barry vs. Emmitt? (with Ryan Mathews) : Part 1
Q: So Jacob, how much does the system dictate their greatness, Gibbs vs Bijan in relation to Barry and Emmitt?
The group leans toward a balanced view: the system influences production, but Gibbs and Bijan possess distinct traits that could translate well if given comparable opportunities, especially through targeted passing-game usage and creative scheme adjustments.
Lions Sign Star LB; Top 5/ Bottom 5 Jersey & Logos
Q: What is your take on the Jack Campbell contract in the context of the market?
They agree the deal is team-friendly and fair, not resetting the market, and it solidifies Campbell as a top-tier linebacker while allowing room for other extensions later.
Talking Schlitt Year 2: Draft and Grit Index Talk (with Erik Schlitt)
Q: If the Lions stay at 17, which players would you seriously consider, and would you pull the trigger on a tackle or trade back?
Erik suggests that after the top tier, Maui Nau and Fennel are above the rest among tackles, with Blake Miller as a strong Lions fit due to intangibles and day-one readiness; he would likely pick Miller over Freeling if the top two tackles are gone, and stresses evaluating whether trading back yields better overall value given the depth available after the first tier.
