  • Christians listening, too.

I have been listening for many years, and I’m a priest in one of the branches of Christianity. It hurts a bit when speakers speak insensitively or in overly general, facile ways about our Christian spirituality, which can actually be greatly enhanced by Buddhist wisdom. I ask dhamma speakers to consider that it is ignorance of Right Speech to do, and hinders us all in the bonds on compassion. 🪷 Respectfully offered. Radiant silence. Peace. Metta. Samadhi. 🪷

Not Identifying
Q: So Luang Por, just maybe a final question. How is Sakyaditi the same or different from identification with the thoughts or with the mind?
Sakyaditi is a fundamental approach to understanding belief and perception, highlighting that belief is impermanent and empty, and that true clarity comes from trusting awareness rather than clinging to opinions or dogmatic ideas.
How Are You, Luang Por?
Q: How do language and conditioning affect our understanding of ultimate reality, and can love exist beyond linguistic labels?
Language is a convention; true unconditioned love transcends words and Sankhara, revealing a reality that does not depend on verbal constructs.
How Are You, Luang Por?
Q: What does it mean to die before you die, and how have you seen that idea play out in practice for practitioners?
Die before you die means relinquishing the attachment to a fixed self; through deep realization of non-self and unconditioned love, fear of death dissolves as one recognizes the deathless nature of Dhamma.
How Are You, Luang Por?
Q: As you mentioned the identification with the body, what are ways that you explore identification with the mind in reference to pure consciousness and pure awareness?
You can't find it because you are that; you are here and now in whatever state you are in, so the mind's supposed 'self' dissolves when one rests in the present moment of pure awareness.
Personal Issues and Emotional Hangups
Q: Can the idea of having many personal issues be a delusion that prevents practice?
Yes, treating issues as personal burdens can be a delusion; understanding suffering as impermanent and witnessing it with awareness helps move toward the deathless.
