A gentle start to a Sunday
Sunday Miscellany is rather like a walk down Grafton Street.
As an exile of more than 50 years a visit “home” always includes Grafton Street. It is not the Grafton Street of my childhood despite the inevitable changes over time there is a comforting familiarity. the program is a unique and totally Irish - just random chat - Well done !
The first clip was an essay about a royal train in Ireland that could have fit nicely into a program like RTÉ's "the history show." But as the program progressed, I sank gently into a meadow of words, both essay and poetry, and emerged at the end rested and renewed.
What a relief to the often interesting but eventually overwhelming boom boom boom of energy and words that mark the urgent fight for audiences our money-driven world demands.
A must for radiophiles all over the world
Look forward to listening every Sunday morning. Excellent.
