  • Great philosophy insights

The podcast does a great job of dissecting the underlying philosophical ideas contributing to the vile treatment of women in the last couple thousand years. It shows how this system spits out narcissistic, incoherent and fundamentally damaged individuals (particularly men) and makes a strong case for abolishing it. Well worth a listen for anyone who’s sick and tired of hearing excuses as for why it’s all “natural” and “inevitable” somehow.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sacred Darkness
Q: What the patriarchal takeover kind of means in the sauna context?
The commercialization of the sauna has transformed it from a sacred spiritual space into a patriarchal institution focused on profit.
Some Poems For My Sex
Q: Can you explain your thoughts on the backlash your feminist poetry has received?
The backlash was largely based on a misinterpretation of my writing, particularly one line that was taken out of context.
Some Poems For My Sex
Q: What prompted you to write your book, I Will Not Bear You Sons?
My personal experiences in a patriarchal culture and the contradiction between the freedom I was told I had and the reality of being a woman.
Banning Women
Q: Can you elaborate on the double consciousness that women experience?
It's the interruption of fluid movement by women's consciousness of how they are perceived, which affects their ability to participate in sports and life freely.
Banning Women
Q: What led you to want to write 'In Her Nature'?
I wanted to probe the claim that women only started running and participating in sports in the 1970s, which seemed ludicrous to me.
