  • Poor production quality

Important topic discussion by experts ruined by poor sound production, background email bings and shuffling noises.

  • Ignoring the hard topics and lacking depth now. Degraded offerings.

This used to be a go to for geopolitical analysis but sadly no more. Lack of depth in analysis and completely ignoring the major global events such as a European war and the challenges to the balance of power in the Indo- Pacific region. These events do not exist in the Rane worldview. Better off accessing podcasts from reputable news outlets or geopolitical analysts who have interests in actual global politics.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What to Expect from Vietnam’s Leadership Election Results
Q: Could To Lam's potential to become state president alter Vietnam's power structure?
Yes, if To Lam holds both the general secretary and state president roles, it would be a historic consolidation similar to centralized models in other one-party states, potentially increasing the regime's centralized authority and influence over policy and security.
What to Expect from Vietnam’s Leadership Election Results
Q: What is the significance of the National Party Congress for the upcoming National Assembly elections?
The Congress sets the leadership slate and policy direction upstream from the National Assembly, which will then elect the president, prime minister, and head of the National Assembly, making the Congress a critical predictor of the political and economic trajectory.
The Outlook for a U.S.-Saudi Civilian Nuclear Agreement
Q: You could start with explaining why Saudi Arabia is seeking a civilian nuclear program. I think that would really help set the stage for our listeners.
Saudi Arabia has pursued a civilian nuclear program for decades as part of energy diversification under Vision 2030, aiming to reduce hydrocarbons reliance and broaden clean energy, with broad considerations including economic opportunities for U.S. nuclear companies and strategic leverage in regional geopolitics. The conversation also notes delays due to concerns over uranium enrichment and proliferation, and the potential for a broader normalization agenda tied to other regional deals.
Geopolitical Uncertainty and the Bond Market
Q: What other areas of geopolitical risk are top of your mind right now?
Our relationship with Canada is crucial, as many markets, especially in Arizona, are dependent on Canadian investment in real estate.
Geopolitical Uncertainty and the Bond Market
Q: How does your industry react if we move into a hypothetical situation with a US military takeover of Greenland?
It would likely lead to a significant reaction from the West, with economic repercussions felt heavily, especially in the bond market.
