  • Still probably the best CFC pod but that still ain't saying much

It has improved a little but is still hard to take seriously. Presenter, journalists, and producer all appear to suffer from ‘Main Character’ syndrome. Who cares that they posted something online? Only them. Who needs post-match audio notes full of hot takes which are often rolled back in the rest of an episode? Only them. This could be a great podcast, but the wingeing and moaning is incessant. Being a good print journalist does not automatically make you a good podcast pundit. The show would b... more

However, certain members of the pod are now reminiscent of match day pundits who tend to react rather than analyse. The irony is that journalists can often speak more sense than ex players as they’re more likely to see the bigger picture rather than react to the result. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Forest (H), manager latest, Mudryk's appeal & Bright's retirement
Q: Is Morgan Gibbs-White the player in the best form in this game, do you think?
The panel agreed Gibbs-White is in standout form for Forrest coming into the fixture, highlighting his goal threat and influence both in build-up and finishing.
Chelsea put seven past Port Vale - plus the Enzo debacle and Mudryk in Uxbridge!
Q: What did you think about Chelsea's captaincy decision for this match?
We discussed how Palmer's leadership role was presented as a natural continuation of his influence on and off the pitch, and considered whether there was a broader tactical reason behind giving him more responsibility.
SOC Extra: Atalanta 2-1 Chelsea reaction
Q: Is two wins out of the next two games a must if there's any hope to finish in the top eight now?
Yes, probably with two wins, probably with 16 points you can be in the top eight.
Barca and Arsenal offer Chelsea their biggest test yet after Burnley win
Q: Do we need to lavish further praise on Andrey Santos, Sam, or do we need to temper it with the fact that it was against Burnley?
Santos had a solid performance against Burnley, showcasing his defensive capabilities despite the team's overall need for improvement in attack.
Unconvincing against Jose's Benfica - but (perhaps misguided) hope ahead of Liverpool
Q: Are Liverpool in a slump at the moment?
I think they've struggled to get going this season and haven't looked anywhere close to their best.
