Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

15. Chris Waller – Plural Investing on GCI Liberty (GLIBK) and Seaport Entertainment (SEG)
Q: One big-picture question: given the setup with Malone's group, what kind of acquisition, in a rough scenario, would excite you for GCI Liberty a year or two from now?
A scenario where a non-traditional asset in the lower 48 with meaningful tax shields is acquired, modeled at about five to six times EBITDA, funded with debt and complemented by the monetization of the NOLs. This could translate into multiple expansion to 13-15 times EV/FCF and roughly 150% upside over three years, supported by a fully utilized tax shield structure and a disciplined acquisition strategy.
13. Colin King on NCR Atleos, Aumovio, and Solstice
Q: Moving to Aumovio, what's your take given its clean balance sheet and the turnaround risks?
Aumovio looks like a small position for me; the net cash balance sheet is unusual for an automotive parts spin-off, and while some segments are under pressure, the defensible balance sheet provides optionality for a turnaround or selective buybacks once the restructuring progresses.
13. Colin King on NCR Atleos, Aumovio, and Solstice
Q: Okay, so NCR Atleos seems interesting; do you own it and what's your quick takeaway?
I don't own NCR Atleos yet, but I think it's compelling on a two- to three-year view due to the potential de-levering and the shift toward a higher-margin ATM-as-a-service mix, which could drive earnings growth even if the installed base remains flat.
11. Simeon McMillan of Accrued Interest (STRZ, WBD, CMCSA)
Q: What is your take on Warner Bros. Discovery's potential breakup and how investors should frame the upside and risks?
Waiting for tracking stock signals and a clean separation is prudent; the value depends on which unit—networks or studios—becomes the growth engine and how debt is allocated across the two entities; the upside requires favorable monetization of streaming and content assets.
11. Simeon McMillan of Accrued Interest (STRZ, WBD, CMCSA)
Q: How do you think about Starz's bundling strategy and its impact on valuation?
Bundling can significantly reduce churn and raise effective ARPU by integrating Starz with larger platforms; the key is ensuring the bundles are preserved over time and that the economics remain favorable for both the content creator and the aggregator.
