Having just slipstreamed into TTRPGs with the 2nd edition Star Trek:Adventures as a life long (cough 40years) Trekkie. Failing to get into DnD swords n sorcery this was the science fiction setting where I wanted to boldly go, only issue was having no clue what I was doing. Warping in to roll an assist was Starship Tempest, at this point I’m close to finishing season 1 and it’s a perfect mix of editing, gaming and silliness. It’s has been a perfect inlet to learn the mechanics and see the possib... more
Was introduced to this crew at DragonCon 2024 and had a fantastic time. Looked up the show and am so happy I did. You can tell that they have a vast knowledge and appreciation for Trek and use it for wonderfully hilarious ends.
Cannot recommend this show enough.
I am excited to work my way through the seasons and follow the adventures of the Crew of the Tempest. 🖖🏻
Started listening to Starship Tempest to get me back into the swing of running a STA game myself that was on hiatus. Well, let me tell you: this show has me so excited to be running it again.
The cast does a fantastic job of keeping me fully entertained and there is some hilarious banter in there. If you love Star Trek and TTRPGS, you should give Starship Tempest a shot.

A science-fiction RPG-focused show built around an ongoing Star Trek Adventures campaign. Episodes emphasize space battles, diplomacy, moral choices, and long-form storytelling within a Lost Era setting, often weaving in political intrigue, shapeshifter lore, and character-driven arcs. The group blends tactical gameplay with banter, humor, and meta-discussion about game mechanics, making it appealing to both Trekkie fans and tabletop RPG players searching for accessible, story-forward actual-play content. Noteworthy qualities include a tight-knit cast with strong chemistry, high-stakes narrative moments, and a willingness to mix serious sci-fi questions with playful humor and recurring running gags that keep episodes engaging across arcs.
