  • Short and Sweet

Right to the point. Avoids the fluff in a lot of other podcasts.

  • Interesting and Insightful

Enjoyed listening to the podcasts that cover the macroeconomic view and well as more granular views on FX. Keeps me informed of the market and the bank's outlook at my convenience. Speakers are easy on the ears, avoid unnecessary technical jargon and make listening enjoyable.

Given my short attention span I preferred the crisper 3 minute Podcasts (like FX) to the longer 10-12 minute versions (like GMO) :)

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Through the Noise: Navigating shifting sands
Q: When you are looking ahead of the second half in 2026, what are the key things for investors to focus on and in order to assess where the markets are likely to go?
The focus should be four pivot points: energy prices influenced by the US-Iran interim deal; the supply and breadth of equity IPOs; investor positioning and the risk of a modest pullback; and central bank policy, where easing oil prices could reduce pressure on tightening while job market strength may limit rate cuts.
Through the noise: Deciphering Kevin Warsh
Q: What final takeaway should listeners have regarding positioning in a hawkish backdrop and ongoing market risks?
Near-term challenges persist, but structural diversification and selective exposure across regions and sectors can provide resilience, with continued focus on avoiding overconcentration and staying invested in high-quality, growth-oriented equities while monitoring policy signals.
Through the noise: Deciphering Kevin Warsh
Q: To what extent is earnings strength driven by technology, and should concentration be a concern for Asia and Japan?
Around 80% of earnings growth in Asia and Japan is technology-driven, with Korea and Taiwan leading due to semiconductors and AI components; despite concentration risks, broad earnings upgrades support an overweight stance on Asia and Japan.
Through the noise: Deciphering Kevin Warsh
Q: So how do you think investors should interpret Warsh's message from his first post-meeting briefing?
The hawkish framing may be tactical rather than structural; it tightens financial conditions via a stronger dollar and weaker risk assets, but it could reduce the need for an immediate rate hike later in the year as the policy stance remains on hold for now.
Through the noise: Resilient fundamentals meet investor froth
Q: How do you view the ECB and currency dynamics in the near term?
Expect a mild ECB tightening followed by a pause as softer growth signals and energy prices create a challenging inflation path, with euro weakness potentially offset by US dollar resilience in the near term.
