  • An awesome person

Pete is a thoughtful, intelligent and honest intellectual. He is fair and opened eyed and left of center. He feels like a brother who I love to listen to and I’m glad he’s out there. He calls himself a stoic and a Buddhist. It seems that it is working well for him.

  • The Best Way to Keep Up

I have been listening to Pete Dominick for well over a decade. His shows have always revolved around one principal theme, and that is different than every other host that I am aware of. He doesn’t pretend to know anything about anything. He keeps a stable of unbelievably qualified guests that offer their professional opinions on topics in which they are experts. It is so refreshing to have someone say they are learning along with you. Also using humor to absorb the onslaught of news is the only ... more

  • The most educated guests on the topics that affect us all.

One of the best episodes - Hotez & Mann talk about their book “science under siege” and all they went through during the pandemic and doing what’s right for people continuously throughout their career. To have the Dunning Kruger morons attacking them is beyond frustrating and super insulting. Great interview as usual!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

1578 Dr Andrea Jones Rooy + News & Clips
Q: What is your take on the reliability of polling in predicting elections?
Polls are noisy and should be interpreted as aggregates rather than single results. It's important to consider sample quality, response rates, and the broader context, and to focus on trends across multiple polls rather than a single snapshot.
1578 Dr Andrea Jones Rooy + News & Clips
Q: Can you explain how your background in data science and political science shapes your view of democracy?
Data science provides a quantitative lens to examine political phenomena, while political science frames why and how people form beliefs and how institutions shape outcomes. Together they offer a cautious, evidence-based approach to understanding democracy that tolerates ambiguity and emphasizes humility.
1576 Glenn Kirschner + Headlines & Clips
Q: How do you view the role of state prosecutors in policing federal agents when needed?
Kirschner argued that state prosecutors stepping in to charge a federal agent for assault demonstrates accountability beyond federal protection, and emphasized the necessity of aggressive legal action to deter misconduct by authorities.
1576 Glenn Kirschner + Headlines & Clips
Q: What do you think about the Eastman disbarment and its significance for ethics in political lawyering?
Kirschner stated that Eastman's disbarment by the California Supreme Court reflects a strong stance against unethical conduct in attempting to subvert election results, and highlighted the potential for further professional sanctions as regulators scrutinize behavior.
1576 Glenn Kirschner + Headlines & Clips
Q: What was your relationship with Eric Swalwell and how did it influence your voting rights work?
Kirschner explained that he pitched a federal law on homicide victims' rights to Swalwell and worked with his team to help pass the Homicide Victims' Families' Rights Act, which gives families a statutory right to have cold cases reinvestigated.
