  • An awesome person

Pete is a thoughtful, intelligent and honest intellectual. He is fair and opened eyed and left of center. He feels like a brother who I love to listen to and I’m glad he’s out there. He calls himself a stoic and a Buddhist. It seems that it is working well for him.

  • The Best Way to Keep Up

I have been listening to Pete Dominick for well over a decade. His shows have always revolved around one principal theme, and that is different than every other host that I am aware of. He doesn’t pretend to know anything about anything. He keeps a stable of unbelievably qualified guests that offer their professional opinions on topics in which they are experts. It is so refreshing to have someone say they are learning along with you. Also using humor to absorb the onslaught of news is the only ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

1622 Glenn Kirschner + News & Clips
Q: What role do courts play in ensuring accountability for high-profile wrongdoing?
Courts provide the venue for due process and precedent; they can compel investigations, validate evidence, and set boundaries on executive power, which is essential when political pressure seeks to short-circuit accountability.
1622 Glenn Kirschner + News & Clips
Q: How would you prioritize which crimes to go after first if you were Attorney General?
I would start by assembling specialized teams—public corruption, financial fraud, and civil rights violations—and then pursue the most egregious violations that undermine democratic processes and equal protection under the law, regardless of the political standing of the actors involved.
1616 Christian Finnegan finds the Joy + News & Clips
Q: What does Knicks victory mean for New York beyond the game itself?
It represents a shared joy that validates urban life, boosts community pride, and challenges negative narratives about cities by showing how a diverse population can come together to celebrate.
1613 Prof Jeff Jarvis and today's headlines
Q: What are your thoughts on the current state of AI and the IPO rush among big tech companies?
They see a broad skepticism about AI's societal impact, concern over data-center footprint, and worry about tech elites controlling the future; while acknowledging some value in AI, they critique the hype and fear-driven narratives that could distort policy and public trust.
1613 Prof Jeff Jarvis and today's headlines
Q: What did you think about the CBS News situation and the decision-makers at 60 Minutes?
The host and Jarvis agree that CBS is in trouble, with leadership changes and a focus on branding over journalism, suggesting the network lost its direction and credibility; staying inside the system might allow insiders to report on it, but the overall trajectory seems bleak without a reset.
