  • An awesome person

Pete is a thoughtful, intelligent and honest intellectual. He is fair and opened eyed and left of center. He feels like a brother who I love to listen to and I’m glad he’s out there. He calls himself a stoic and a Buddhist. It seems that it is working well for him.

  • The Best Way to Keep Up

I have been listening to Pete Dominick for well over a decade. His shows have always revolved around one principal theme, and that is different than every other host that I am aware of. He doesn’t pretend to know anything about anything. He keeps a stable of unbelievably qualified guests that offer their professional opinions on topics in which they are experts. It is so refreshing to have someone say they are learning along with you. Also using humor to absorb the onslaught of news is the only ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

1640 Dr. Wil Jeudy + news & clips
Q: How does Will view the role of community for secular people in Texas?
He emphasizes that secular communities are essential for belonging, civic participation, and support networks, arguing that communities without churches can be strong and effective sources of mutual aid and political organizing.
1640 Dr. Wil Jeudy + news & clips
Q: What is the core difference Will sees between Christianity and Christian nationalism?
Will explains that Christian nationalism is a political movement that seeks to impose a particular interpretation of religion on government, which is distinct from genuine Christian faith and practice; the aim is to protect civil rights and separate church from state rather than to advance religious doctrine in public policy.
1642 Dr Rob Davidson + News and Clips
Q: Tell everybody about your organization and the work that you guys are continuing to advocate for, because you guys are doing awesome stuff here on Substack.
Davidson explains Paging America's mission to connect health care and politics, advocate for universal health care, and provide trusted medical analysis through expert hosts.
1643 Run For Something's Amanda Litman
Q: What is the DNC's role in the broader electoral landscape and why does that matter for local races?
The DNC's role is primarily to move money to state parties and coordinate the national calendar, while Run for Something works directly with state and county parties to recruit and support local candidates; this delineation matters because local races need on-the-ground organizing and resources that the DNC doesn't handle.
1643 Run For Something's Amanda Litman
Q: Tell us who Run for Something is and what parameters you use when deciding whom to support.
Run for Something identifies and supports young, diverse leaders for local offices and builds a pipeline through outreach, proactive recruitment, and targeted engagement, aiming to elect a wide array of candidates who can effectively serve their communities.
