  • I miss the short clips

The short clips that were previously made available were a great way to get my Riders coverage. My listening schedule doesn’t allow for an entire show. So, I do zip through the whole episode to get to the goods.

  • I like the smaller pieces.

I like the 620 rebrand of the SportsCage in an effort to establish a new foundation. However, I just don’t listen to the daily show like I used to. Too many topics that don’t keep my attention with new hosts I don’t have a connection with. Which makes these segmented pieces of the show in podcast form valuable. I can pick what I want to listen to and ignore the rest.

Rob Vanstone explains that the proximity of the markets, the long-running history, and the culture of chirping and rivalry—both between teams and their fans—create a unique atmosphere that transcends play, making it a festival of emotion for generations.
The SportsCage - August 26th, 2026
Q: What happened with Emelis and the six-game injury list, and what does it mean for the Riders' offense?

The SportsCage - August 14th, 2026
Q: What makes the Hamilton game particularly challenging for the Riders?
The Hamilton defense is strong and aggressive, so the Riders must execute with discipline, manage the run game, and use quick, smart play options to keep the defense off balance.
The SportsCage - August 12th, 2026
Q: What makes Maddox Schultz stand out at his age according to Craig Button?
Button compares Schultz's game to Crosby and Stamkos in terms of maturity and understanding, saying Schultz is a prodigy with elite hockey sense who could make the jump to the NHL if he continues to develop; he also emphasizes that birth certificates should not overly constrain evaluation.
The SportsCage - July 28th, 2026
Q: Who is the best quarterback in the CFL right now and what's the path forward for teams facing injury issues at the position?
The hosts agree that there's no single clear answer due to injuries and varied team schemes; emphasis is placed on protecting quarterbacks through better O-line play and roster depth, plus potential roster expansion as a strategic solution.
