Through the lens of Kaf's teenage diaries, Smoke Fairies explore what true musicians are really made of.
Smoke Fairies reminisce on their career highlights and the incredible places music has taken, from their early days of sitting on eggs right through to treading in a dog poo in France. Warning, this episode contains the worst of all the swear words.
Smoke Fairies discuss the disappointments and let downs experienced while chasing their musical dream in a conversation that derails extensively.
Smoke Fairies recall memorable moments from their endless quest for the perfect publicity shot. Featuring tales of zombie caterpillars, dead slugs and fearlessly flinging themselves in ponds.
Smoke Fairies recall their favourite press and publicity related mishaps, including getting stuck in a fire escape with a reality TV film crew. Warning: this episode contains loud chewing and crunching right from the start.
Smoke Fairies reflect on Christmas times past, through tales of creepy presents, pets going crazy and festive musical exploits.
Smoke Fairies are back with new biscuit gripes, tales of cooking mishaps, terrible xylophone performances and a new cat joins the team.
Smoke Fairies explore their first recordings in this bumper episode.
Really charming stories that have been getting me through the early mornings, and maybe even some sound advice for surviving the music industry! Would like to hear more from Stanley, however.
My absolute favourite podcast series, always brings a smile to my face. More xylophone and cat participation please!
Perfect podcast to lift my spirits. I love listening when I’m out exercising or having a midnight snack. Thank you, Smoke Fairies!
Idiosyncratic and frankly hilarious - I’ve enjoyed every episode. Hopefully this review will read well Google Translated into Icelandic and back into English. To make matters worse... ;-)
I was feeling sad and then I listened to Season 1, Episode 4 “Biscuits and Pies” and I felt better so I wanted to let you know I am grateful to you for sharing your friendship and music. xx
What a complete joy it's has been listening to these lovely people talking about life whilst driving my truck. Genuinely laughed out loud at every episode. I may even have to buy some caramel digestive biscuits now. Can't wait for more
An absolute joy to listen to our favourite pair of squeakers as they take you on a gentle tour of life as a musician and teenage diaries.
This is the perfect antidote to the chaos of the world. Their gentle manner and constant giggling makes this a delightful, funny and relaxing listen. Their music is stunning and Katherine and Jessica (and Stanley) seem like lovely people who are a wonderful listen.
I stumbled across this podcast via 6 music.
Having been in a few bands in the past, I’ve found this fun especially episode 3, such a true and funny description of the crap gig world.
Anyway, I went and listened to the band & loved it!
A really enjoyable podcast. I'm already a big fan of Smoke Fairies (please don't give up on your incredible music) but this was a lovely surprise with so many great stories.
Every episode is a winding road and with each new one I get a little bit closer to feeling fine.
When I started listening to the first episode I wondered where it was going. Then I realised that wasn't the point, and it's just lovely listening to them going absolutely no-where! Very amusing, and a delightful listen
Smoke Fairies make some of the most beautiful and ethereal music I have heard. Listening to this podcast showed me the two ladies behind the music. Bright, sensitive, witty and charming. I have met some musicians whose work I have admired only to be let down by their personalities. Of course I haven’t actually met the Smoke Fairies but hearing them interact with each other reveals their personalities. Looking forward to more episodes!
This needs to be a stage show. Dry and witty and so funny!
Missing the first-class on-stage live Smoke Fairies bants? With the podcast you get all that and more. Includes: the inside story on *that* meeting with Sheryl Crow; how to say Blamire; details of the dream Smoke Fairies tour bus; parenting behaviour and the coolest kids in 1990s Chichester; and much, much more. Features extensive content from Katherine’s achievement diary. With commentary from Jessica. Not to be missed.
Katherine + Jessica are great fun as typified in their first podcast ! Love it !
